Is there a contest that interests you?

Just a quick "poll" for some feedback.  The CursorFX contest only got 5 entries.  Although they are all high-quality entries, the amount of them of very poor.

I'm curious for both skinners and members what kind of contest or promotion would interest you most.

How about little utilized apps like Sysmetrix or Xion or DX. you can promote all three. Or an amateur contest to see who can make the better skin, doesn't matter which one.......suggestions. Make the incentive worthwhile though. Just sayin'

I only do WB´s, now Cursors also and some wallpapers... so I´d say another WB contest....With a "theme" that´s a little easier to get ideas to. It doesnt seem like there´s a lack of enthusiasm for making Blinds out there.... I think one reason that there were so few contenders in the cursorcontest was that it was so hard to come up with a summerrelated idea... :\

I need to post that I'm interested in contests (WB, CursorFX, Rainlendar, ObjectDock), but I'm moving at the end of the month to Oklahoma, and I'm having to use up my free time doing the planning, arranging and packing for that, which is why I didn't enter the CursorFX contest.

And I agree with Andrew, that  coming up with a summer-related idea is kind of hard.

Give away an iPad. Just a sugg.  :-"

The summer related theme is fine it's just I don't do cursers, I'm an animation kind of guy.

While a contests with dreams alone would leave some people out, how about pick a few catagories and do one with the same theme

Kind of a free for all...windowblinds, cursers, icons, walls and dreams, all with a summer theme.

Not really.

id rather no theme contests, it makes it ultra hard for people to come up with ideas,

i think cash as a prize gives more incentive....(try it and see the people flock to the contest, especially if its a decent amount)

i dont mean to sound bitchy, but you can only give away so many odnt subs before people roll their eyes and say 'bought that last year, dont need it'

i agree with car guy, it should be an open slather so anyone can make anything and submit it, cursor, dream, wb, sysmetrix, ect

It wasn't really a contest . . but it was fun (and was a bit more accessible to everyone).  Mock up a skin.

I went through all four pages and while there were many old favorites like Tom and Jerry Bugs and all but not one from one of the oldest and IMO best cartoons out there. What happened to Popeye the Sailor?

the themed wallpaper contests are always interesting to see what people come up with, with a given direction...

trouble is, many don't seem to want to enter just for the fun of it... and to contribute... it's not all about winning...

^ A lot of fun can be had, as well as learning...

What say you start one, Syddie? I'll try to keep up... just don't expect too much!

I liked the themes because it offers a bit of a challenge.

First of all, thank you ID for this idea.

For the Summer CursorFX contest, the theme on the summer was not quite open and limit the creativity.
I believe that this explains the number of participants.

I think that the idea of the competition is good, because it allows the promotion of a product.
The Skinners like products on which they work, they are therefore potentially interested.
However, it is necessary that the proposed rules allow to open to inventiveness, innovation and leaves a large room for imagination.
