input not supported

in grey box

I just had a strange, to me, change in my Win Xp.  When I ended my turn in Doms3, and went back to desktop, a grey rectangular box, appeared, with the words, 'input not supported' inscribed inside box.  the box slowly moves around the screen, blocking everything under it, and bounces off the sides.  is this another bug/ virus?  I was on line at the time, to email sights and SD.  What do I do?  IS it dangerous?  Apprentice help for your all in the know.  Thanks

Have you tried rebooting your PC to see if it continues?  Might have just been a temporary glitch

Ah, i considered that, but was afraid if it was a worm or root virus. i would then entrench it... will try reboot.  thanks

ah, OK... i rebooted, and all is fine... was just a glitck, I guess.... but I will file away all this in my memory, if it ever happens again.  Thanks all.
