DX No longer a part of Object Desktop's original downloads?

So, seriously, can't I still use Impulse for my Stardock programs? Or am I misreading?

Well, when I finished the purchase transaction, on the bottom of that page, I was offered two buttons, I pressed the one that took me to my stuff.  Forgot what the button said on it, but "poof" I am there at a list of a lot of softwars.  So I am downloading a few. But, now that you mentioned Impulse, maybe leaving that button there isn't a good idea.

Listen I did get the email receipt and link, I think maybe I will start there.  I wouldn't want to miss any of the advertised wares, just because I got in a hurry.  People that know me, know when it concerns my bottom line, I never rush it.

LOL, we wouldn't what RND to be calling frogboy.  Maybe he is heavy on the DX is he?

Others have said they don't see DX in their lists. I see DX Pro 3.5 in my list. But DX Pro isn't part of Object Desktop.

Has DX been dropped?

There's not a link for Tiles because it is still beta software and needs to be downloaded via Impulse for now.

  Under "Features".. of course it is not explained on the "more..." link.  I HATE bait and switch.  I HOPE this isn't done to make one push the "Buy" button.  It does SAY Desktop X on the initial OD page.  They should take it out of the advert pages 1st, then remove it from the product listing, if they are nixing it.  They need to give it up in my case, I would think. 

Nop, no Impulse either.  Seems they nixed that too.  I heard from another thread...HmmYOu name sounds familar...that They had planned to stop the Impuse stuff.  I don't so betas on this machine.  If they want to high me out for beta testing, I will have another machine for it.  You should know that with Alphas/betas/RC's an increasing risk is attached.  I love my monster machine, would do no testing on it.  Bad software gets canned, even if I was fool enough to pay for it. 

For all in thread.  Just a bit of a rant:

SO, No Impulse, NoDesktop X, No Tiles, Listing TweakVista & Tweak7 separate downloads- there are the same now.  Hmm, this deal is getting even more sweet from where I sit.  It is a matter of just being satified with wat the give me.  I have all these other apps, so I should be greatful somehow.  If you are saling a list of things, you can't leave somethign out after the sale,.  Then tell that customer to be greatful for what he DID get.

Say what you men and mean what you say.  It was the deal as they advertised it.  It's the motto I do expect out myself as well as others.

Tiles is still in Beta.  If you are nervous about using a Beta you can simply wait until the software goes Gold, however it has always been the case with skinning/skinnable software that people have been eager to access/test products whilst in beta OR alpha.  GUI modifiers tend to be at the pointy end of software use/development.

That's not for all, but conservatism shouldn't deny the adventurous/eager....;)

Thank you Jafo, can you tell me for sure that I really still need Impulse.  I wasn't given it in my email and I have already D/D'ed most of the software.  It is only Desktop X that they didn't give me as advertised.  I would like the version 3.5 as RND says it works ok on his Windows 7 x64 system.  I have the same OS.

Do you think it would be there if I used Impuse?  What do you think the effect would be if I just d/l/ all the others and I suddenly used Impulse?

Sorry for all the queries,  Just don't want to fudge things up so soon in the game.  BTW: I am not a "skiiner", so I am not eager in that way.  I do beta testing from time to time, but as a real jobwork.  You know with reports and screenshots.  I would use a separate machine for that.  Sometimes the one they want configured.

There is no conspiracy as you claim in your multitude of comments on other posts.

As has been explained to you several times - Stardock is in the process of switching over from Impulse (now owned by GameStop) and there can be a few bumps in-the-road before all the issues of this move is resolved.

So "as-advertised" you will get what you paid for. No "bait 'n Switch" as you stated several times already.

  I guess it would have been much better if, 5 days ago, Customer/Tech Serivices would have just made a terse announcement to answer to say that it going to be there, or whatever.  I would have avoided going to the community for help to begin with.  Especially, when they probably couldn't really say how it will be resolved.  I must be spoiled.  I am used to such things being done in software organisations.  I have learned so much.

Jafo, please...nah, nevermind.  I read the whole thread before you posted that.  "June 30, 2011 2:23:20 PM" I looked after that date I think, however, it wasn't up when I looked then.  I SAW IT and LOOKED, it twernt thar!!! (at that time).  I have looked before I made my last posts, that I know. 

Such a small sententance...could you not have just copy/pasted it, instead of the link to a forum, again.  I mean you just put me through more agravation(more time), that's all.  Sorry, but when something isn't working, I usually move on to try some more, until resolved.  Habits of a old developer I guess.
