Rebellion Without a Cause

So it’s been nearly four months since the announcement for Rebellion was made and what have we gotten in terms of information since then? A screenshot, some promised features and of course, the opportunity to pre-order it. Or nothing at all if you don’t count the initial announcement.

I wasn’t expecting weekly updates, but four months with just one piece of news to go on seems a little strange. Shouldn’t there be a marketing department somewhere trying to win people over for this? I mean come on, a screenshot, interview, preview article, anything at all would be super swell at this point, and would do a lot to justify pre-ordering this.

I worry Bev, I worry a lot.

TBH I pirated sins about 5 months before entrenchment's release. Yeah, I did it. BUT!!! I was so impressed with the game and excited I went and bought it as soon as i could save up the money, scrapped my old files, and I've actually tried contributing to the modding community as of late, I already have about $45 stashed away for Rebellion . I admitted my wrong doings and today I own a hard copy of Sins OG(original game) and a copy of trinity   I guarantee I'll never be kicking this game to the side(like star craft, spore, or the many others I "sampled" and never bought)

*awaits judgment for previous life crimes against the programmers* ;_; be gentle I'm fragile

As you did pay for it twice now, you are absolved of your prior sins.

I have to admit I pirated Sins as well, not because I wanted to try it but at the time I was out of a job and really wanted and knew that once I could get the game I would and sure enough I did, I bought the GOTY for the awesome soundtrack CD, still want a copy of Trinity and despite what others say I'm eagerly awaiting Rebellion, I've loved all the expansions of Sins, can't get enough, I don't even get mad when a update comes out and my current save is useless, I just love starting over and enjoying the game.

It's funny how allowing pirates to play a full demo of the game resulted in some actual sales.

People pirated it and liked it.  Then they bought the game itself so they could get the patches on Impulse and in some cases to be able to play on Ironclad Online.

^ that more or less seems to be the case ... which is the reason I like that you can install the game off the disc, and play it without the disc, and have all your friends try it and LAN together. If everyone likes it, which typically seems to be the case, then everyone goes out and purchases the full game so that they can download IMPROVEMENTS and EXPANSION PACKS which only EXPAND the already STELLAR game play! Stardock and IronClad certainly know what they're doing. :-) It's why they were top game of 2008.

Man... I remember in the old days.... nobody told you anything about a game before it came out. You had no idea. You'd be lucky to hear about it relatively soon after it's release... I mean, maybe a few were built up and you'd know it was coming, but I dont remember ever being told when or much of anything about them. You'd have to go to the store every week and check. What's the world come to?

*sigh* I must be getting old. Great. When did that happen?

I remember when we made up games and played them outside.

Yea but all those fantasy worlds now exist virtually, there's no need to run around as children wielding foam swords and knight armour made out of cardboard.

I of course have never done this << >>

Outside?! Just grab a good board game (or make your own) and sit down in relative comfort at your kitchen table! No need to go challenging the Sun's deadly rays ... it's trying to kill you you know. :omg:

I heard an NPR clip the other day asking about whether we're no longer getting the Vitamin D we need as a result of spending so much time inside.

Back in my day, the neighborhood kids would come home from school, drop our books in our rooms, and be gone, somewhere outside until the moms started yelling for everyone to come home for dinner. Boy, our moms could really project their voices!

Sigh, I feel so old.  :(
