Demigod failing to load

Black. The world is becoming black!

So, downloaded Demigod onto my new laptop, with the full intention of playing it till my eyes bled.

Laptop stats are as follows:

Intel i7 2630QM @ 2.00 GHz

8 GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M

Windows 7 64 bit

Now, thinking that all the above is pretty good for a laptop in general, Demigod should run handily on it. Unfortunately, as soon as I start it up, it sits at a black screen. No company logos, no intro movie, no response. Only way out is through the task manager and ending the process. Supposedly it's running, but there's no sign of life.

Any suggestions/solutions?

3 ideas - 1 might get you in business right away - delete your game.prefs file.  You can find it here:  C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME GOES HERE\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod\game.prefs. 

idea 2 - make sure you have the most up-to-date drivers for your graphics card

3 - send an email to [email protected] They will assign a ticket number and someone on their tech support staff will get back to you.

Option 1 didn't get me anything, unfortunately. Same with 2, so on to option 3! Thanks for the help though1

Does that video card use Nvidia's optimus technology? (Does it also have an Intel card that is used when not doing anything graphically intensive?) My brother's laptop does the same thing with a Nvidia 540M, but it plays just fine when I force the Intel video card.

I am doing a driver update to see if I can't get it to run on the Nvidia card, since it is the more powerful one...and dammit it should work. At least there's a workaround in my brother's place. Hopefully it should work for you.

Updating the video card drivers worked perfectly.
