Why not just get rid of tactical combat in WoM?

Why not just get rid of tactical combat in WoM?

Since WoM seems to have a lot of different features that need a lot more love still, why not get rid of tactical combat in that game altogether? This would have a lot of different benefits. The change would

- make WoM considerably more different to FE, further serving the purpose of appealing to different appetites.

- free up resources to focus more on other parts of the game that need imrpovement

- get rid of the problem of working two different tactical combat systems simultaneously (WoM and FE) (especially avoiding having to write tactical AI code twice!)

- allow to improve parts of WoM that don't exist on other Elemental games (minor factions, for instance)

I wouldn't mind *not* having tactical combat in WoM. It has so many different features already, and tactical will be in Fallen Enchantress anyway.

Well, for one, I suspect a large chunk of the current owners would demand a full refund, considering we bought the game primarily because it was a fantasy 4x with Tactical Combat.

At least I would. I already own plenty of 4x games without good Tactical Combat, and only 1 with (2: pending E:WoM's improvement)

Maybe tactical combat would be better suited for any fights with at least one hero with either party else it falls to the nontactical kind.

If they got rid of Tactical combat then there would be no reason to play at all. The game is bad enough as is taking away TC would just make it worst.

If they get rid of tactical combat, what reason would anyone ever have to play this game instead of CivIV or FfH2?

Besides I bought this game because it was suppose to have TC like in MOM and Age of Wonders.  I do not like the CIV combat system except CIV 5 which has a more tactical combat feel.
