Keep it polite

We try to stay out of the way of topics as much as possible, but for some reason there have been lots of personal attacks floating around here lately.  An open discussion with different opinions and such is always welcome, but once it melts down into one person against another, or others piling on, the discussion will most likely be ended.

Calling someone a profanity as a personal attack is a fast way to be removed regardless of rank or how long you have been here.

This is our community.  Keep it polite!

This site has been a bastion of good community relations surrounded by a web of jerks thanks to good members and moderators.

maybe you should also remind people that harrassing others  trolling, and spending misguided energies on pathetic pot shots and flame baiting to get a rise out of someone is against the rules too.

i agree, keep it clean and keep it respectful, but when it all comes down to it, it's words on a screen and if you get to offended then maybe you need to grow a thicker skin. Bad behaviour is never acceptable but it is a part of life. So toughen up and let it slide off you.

As long as it's not a personal attack it seems to be fine. When I call Po' names it's usually a term of endearment. Same with that troll fellow.

Other than that, my role on Wincustomize.com is officially "Community Manager" which means it's commonly my foot that miscreants feel being inserted into their behinds.

If anyone feels the need to self-destruct just let me know and I'll polish my steel caps ....;)

Just yesterday starkers mentioned what a great little corner of the net this is [to a new member]... and he's right, too.

Let's all make sure that's a continuing reality.
