Objectdock MS Office 2010 flyout menu

Hey guys,

I'm currently customizing the desktop of my laptop and I've run into a problem with OD2+. The problem isn't that I can't get the flyout menu for MS Office to work, it's that it's working too slow. I'll try to explain as clearly as I can.

On both my desktop and my laptop I linked flyout menu to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office. This is because I couldn't find a folder which only contained word, pp etc. Office 14, for instance, does contain the individual applications but is cluttered with other files so is not suited as a flyout menu.

On my desktop this has worked fine, but when I click the flyout menu on my laptop, there's a delay before the menu opens. I've established that this is related to the speed of the computer itself, but also to the location of the menu on the drive.

My question is, does anyone know a workaround to this issue? Creating a folder and copying the office exe files to it didn't work.

I'm really sorry for explaining it so vaguely, please if you're willing to help me but need clarification on the issue - ask me!

Thanks!

I'm not an expert here only a thought I had. Would it be possible to make a new folder and copy/paste each exe from the Office 14 folder to the new folder. than you would only have the  exe files in it you use or want. Not telling you to do this just something I would try because you would still have the orginial exe files it the Office 14 folder and if something happened to the other folder no big deal. not that I can see anything happening to be honest. It just may work..

Thanks for your reply DaveBax!

Sadly, that didn't work either. Once I would click one of the .exe files it wouldn't start the program, but start the installation process of the program. I think the exe file needs to be in the same folder as all the other files in order for it to work properly. I got an idea last night though, which I'm going to try right now; I'll make a folder with shortcuts to the exe files instead of copying them. I'll report back once it's done.
