Dear Eagle Kings, may you live forever, please consider the noble traditions of the Caelum people, and the wise leadership by example your most honored citizens have shown the world in ages past.  Surly this nasty death dust is beneath your noble people.  Please, rise to the occasion and ban this dreadful stuff.  If export of the source death gems is politically impossible, may I suggest entrusting them to your most honored priests, or a member of the 12, and allow them to protect your death gems from the honorable citizens of your dominion?

Ulm invites one and all to meet at the gamesurge irc chat.

These discussions are clearly important enough to be held 'face to face'.

The Marverni circle of elders meeting in open session before a "sanctioned gathering of the people", have decided to ban the use and practice of "death gem dust" in the Marverni Union.

Hereafter the vile practice of "death gem dust use" will now be known as "death dusting".

Be it known: The practice of "death-dusting" is considered a vile and socially unacceptable in all lands of the Marverni Union! All those miscreants caught in the practice of said vile act shall be sentenced to blood sacrifice.

Further the correct use of yellow journalism is greatly appreciated by the Marverni Union, while those that misuse this honorable public service are often sentenced to the blood slave pits.

This in no way is meant to state or imply that the Marverni Union encourages or sanctions the official use of blood sacrifice in its territories.

"JUST SAY NO".................................. Three simple words, yet so much meaning.

The All-Mighty Leader and Generally Cool Dude Joe of Abysia has issued a personal statement regarding the ongoing Death Gem Dust debate:

ABYSIA, THE SMOULDERCONE - The current so-called "debate" on death gems is a culturally insensitive and imperialist attempt to rob the good people of Abysia of their favorite garnish.  I cannot name a single Abysian who does not sprinkle his blood-slave puree with ground death gems, who doesn't flavor his lava tea with a touch of that magical powder.  No, ground death gems are the spice of life in Abysia, a flavor and an obsession.  What's more they are the one thing that tempers our fiery dispositions, allowing us to work peacefully with each other and our distressingly frigid neighbors.

If you would take away our death powder, the result would be, without a doubt, an apocalyptic revolution the likes of which this world has never seen.  The Abysian hordes - interested merely in protecting our lifestyle and culture - would erupt like the volcano from which they were born.  That you fleshy nations would even consider such an act is a grave affront.  We will defend the Abysian way of life to the last, or else my name is not Joe!

It does seem as though those heat loving nations are having the most issues with this so called 'death dust'.  I think there's a lesson there for everyone.

Perhaps it is what has fueled their superior expansion.  Like HGH or PEDs...

Where's the Warren commission when you need 'em?

In other news, a few folks did make it to the IRC, letting us all plot against everyone who didn't make it.  Let that be a lesson to you as well ;)

The motion to ban grinded death gems, also known as death gem dust substance from harmful use on sentient beings:

1) Abysia votes: Nay (no negative effects)

2) Arcoscephale votes: Aye!

3) Caelum votes: Abstain (cannot police lower caste population orifices)

4) C'tis votes: Nay! (stoned on death gem dust, possibly a major supplier?)

5) Marverni votes: Aye!

6) Niefelheim votes: Aye!

7) Sauromatia votes:

8) Ulm votes: Abstain (supports own motion on removing death gems)

To Joe, the coolest(should that not be hottest?) dreadlord of Abysia:

The right honourable people of Abysia may have been mispresented the intentions of this treaty, it is not to ban the use of death gems or the trade of these (That is the Ulmite motion) but merely their use on sentient beings it harms. If the Abysians are unaffected this is great news however the rest of your population will be far less productive for it. Let us stand against this together and ensure the productivity and wealth of all our nations, be it over the backs of slaves or freemen!

It may also be possible to include an article of exception in the case of Abysian bloodvirgins given the perishable nature of these goods and their destiniy of consumption regardless of addiction or drug addled effects.

Hail Great Lux, may you live forever:

My mistress, the Smurfette, may she live forever, bids me to request a meeting between our two great nations, that we might discuss possible boundaries, NAPs, and other mutually beneficial possibilities.

Kay we live forever.

4) C'tis votes: Nay! (stoned on death gem dust, possibly a major supplier?)

Sorry, I think you misunderstand our position on this matter. We are not actually participating in this referendum and, anyway, any decisions reached as a result would have no mandate over the C'Tissian people. Therefore, please remove C'Tis from this tally.

i thought it was all humor... lol....

Death dust is serious business, Elana.

I'm in the chat now, if you are online.

I hope the C'tisian minister responsible for communication understands what 'remove me from the tally' means to most human nations...

Everybody is just looking to see you fall...........

So how about an update on what was said/agreed to in chat the other day?

Any deals brokered?

Wars declared?

Non-aggression accords?

Vile Threats and/or dire Warnings issued?

All that and more!

Don't worry. The rest of you will understand the new axis of power verrrrrrry soon.

You'll be banding together to wage a war on death gem dust?

We try to avoid morally judging those that choose alternate lifestyles but it is a possibility if provoked ofcourse. It's always sad when people can't see eye to eye on subjects that matter.

Despite our differences Arcosesphale strives to be a good neigbour.

The nay only reflects that C'this does not participate in this treaty, there is no divine law that forces you to conform with the absence of the great pantokrator. You are not a major supplier to your people?

8-headed Hydra-Father with great joyed welcomed such a tally intended to bring peace and joy to the world! Immediately an inner discussion took a place, and a Democratic voting followed:

for the ban - one head

against - one head

what the heck is the dust of death gems -  five heads

and one head was missing during a vote due to health issues

Thus, Father Hydra is pleased to announce that he if for, and even against such a ban on death gems.

However, after a long deliberation Fr Hydra's heads, blessed are they, proposed a new tallies:

1) ban of use of national troops

2) ban of use of any magic

3) ban of forging

4) ban of banning

Please, let us know your disposition.

Ban banning?

Yeah...

This turn was still at 72h, when this turn is done the timer will move back to 25h (I give you all an extra hour because I'm so nice ;) )

The pace should be a bit quicker up til ~turn 25, then we can discuss moving to 48h or whatever works for folks.

So it seems TopHat is MIA... now what? Should we start looking for a sub?

Yes, I recommend a sub/replacement.  The game is just started, and Marveni seems in good shape.  It would be a shame to place the players who are neighbors of marverni is such a disastrous position.

uuuppps,

that complicates the things ....

Well, is there anyone reading this who would like to sub in for Marveni, with the understanding that it might just be temporary if TopHat shows up again?

To give you an idea of where they stand in relation, here are the current scores:

They are highest on research and have an above average army size.
