Save the date(s)

Dr. Guy had recently inquired how my relationship (discussed in prior articles to a minor degree) was going.  I had a vague reference to same in the last article previous to this one (Making an Appearance) where I said something like this:

The summer looks like it could be a busy one for me and my family and significant others but I'm glad for that.

I'm back to update again, though I've probably given everything away compliments of the article title.

I sent some notices out to friends where I used that "Save the date(s)" subject line and text that said this:

Saturday, August 20 or August 27.
I have an engagement that should be resolved on one of those days.

The first of those dates appears to be the one.

I've been telling all of the appropriate family members (my parents, my children, and with as much respect as I could, my former in-laws) and slowly getting the word out to friends and other loved ones.  We're working through all of the other items that have to be resolved in planning these type of events.  Invitations, catering/food services, and things like that, and color choices, cake choices and more.  More than you can ever remember and yet somehow you figure it all out as you go.

Rings will be ordered soon, invitations will be ordered soon (as soon as we resolve what we want them to say) and pictures will be done soon so that the family members that are getting invites get pictures with their invites.

In some ways an overwhelming amount of things to do, but all of them leading up a future of joy and happiness, sprinkled with some bumps along the way I am sure, but hopefully a wonderful time together.

I want to stop here for a minute and thank those that were so supportive of me and my family after the events of nearly 2 years ago.  I still greatly appreciate all of that support and concern and compassion that was shown to me (and my family).  I also appreciate the best wishes that were shared along the way as I let slip the news that I had been looking and considering my options for the future.  All of those things were good for me.

While I am still not sure about how much time I'll have available to keep checking in regularly here, or at least checking in as often as I'd like, I do still care about the community here and continue to thank the nice folks at Stardock for making it available to all of us.

Congratulations again!  I find it very pleasing that you are still on such good terms with your in-laws.  After all, they will always be your children's relatives.  And from the sound of it, a part of your life as well.  But now you will have a new wife to share your joys with, and may they be many!
