VAMPYRE Design a Trait (out of time for contest so, who cares?)

Didn't notice the contest until too late.

My trait suggestion is called VAMPYRE or VAMPIRE or BLACK KNIGHT or something around that line

It is a quite powerful trait, one that can influence the whole gameplay for that particular character.

A Vampyre can either be a king or an emperor, but if he chooses humans over the fallen he's going to have a certain number of negative bonuses since they would probably be less inclined to accept a demon as king. (Negative bonuses could include less growth in cities, for example)

A Vampyre can:

1) Transmute into a wolf that runs very fast and is a good fighter but doesn't wear an armor.

2) Transmute into a bat that can fly over mountains and seas and also has a small vampiric skill (suck energy from enemies)

(The idea is that a playe should use his wolf form to be faster on land and his bat form to fly (not too fast) over impassable terrain. The form change should only be done at the beginning of a turn or maybe last a definite number of turn, so that there is an handicap connected to its use)

3) A Vampire should personally kill someone or something at least once every 20 turns or start to become too weak to walk (and maybe even eventually die) he could still be attacked and thus be able to regenerate.

4) A Vampire cannot have children (he's already strong enough like that)

Obviously the vampire idea is too good (:P) to be limited to just that: a vampiric skill could certainly inspire all sort of variations like special buildings that allow a vampire to use special minions, a specific spell book and special vampiric weapons.

:beer:

Cheers

I would consider several traits intead of one and limiting it to those of the wraith race.

  • Vampyre-1: Transmute into wolf that moves 2x normal, but can't wear armor. Strength +1, Constitution +1, Charisma -2
  • Vampyre-2: (Prerequisite: Vampyre-1) Transmute into demon bat that can fly and attack. Strength +1, Constitution +1, Charisma -2
  • Vampyre-3: (Prerequisite: Vampyre-2) Evil Eye slows response of opponents with lower Charisma, Strength +1, Constitution +1, Charisma -2
  • Vampyre-4: Black Magic Spell Book (Raise Skeletons, Raise Zombies, Raise Mummies, etc.), Charisma -2

Sovereign with a Vampyre 1 trait can turn into a wolf. He also gains a +1 bonus to strength and Constitution and suffers from a -2 charisma penalty.

As you suggest selecting a Vampryre trait means that;

  • Cannot have children
  • Costs 2x normal to recruit champions, and not all champions will serve a Vampyre

As for buildings;

  • Graveyard - source of skeletons and zombies. The more graveyards you have the more skeleton and zombie units you can create
  • Catacombs - source of mummies. The more catacombs you have the more Mummy units you can create.

In Fallen Enchantress traits can have effects when attacking specific races or fractions. These affects can also be for a specifc number of rounds in combat or be effective only against opponents with lower charisma.

Yeah, why not. This game lacks specialization, all that is cool. I don't know about limiting that to the fallen, but maybe in that case humans should have a counterpart. Maybe something like "Religious leader"(a sort of pope who also cannot have children but heal units and have all sort of happy positive spells. He would also have a low charisma though, due to the fact that champions who follow him would have to practice abstinence. eheheh.

Can I fart glitter like a real Vampyre?

I think that this is more or less doable right now through the xml (or the stat bonuses are, anyway). The main thing that's not possible is the shapeshifting, and that would be pretty fantastic to see in the future. Obviously, any changes to the model to go along with it are impossible, too.

WOW you saw that in a movie? Must be the reason why they call them horror films!
