No more Expansions. Get Sins 2 out the door already!

I LOVE Sins so don't think this is a hate post. I'm just saying, the game is becoming dated and I think we're all eagerly waiting for some news about sins 2.

We'd all love some news, but from what little we know the next game Ironclad is going to do will not be Sins 2 (rumor has that there next game is a land RTS). Thus this expansion might be the last thing we get from Sins for a few years. No more expansions != Sins 2 faster.

Also, given the age of the current engine, I would be willing to bet a large sum of money that after their next game (another 1-2 years maybe?), they'd actually have to make another new engine for Sins 2. It'll be a while.

For all intents and purposes you can probably regard Rebellion as Sins-2.  It's stand alone, so they could sell it on retail shelves and promote it as though it were Sins-2.  Hopefully it will bring hundreds of new players to the online multiplayer part of the game.  (If you haven't played it on Ironclad Online yet against human players, what are you waitin' for?)

...and I want a space pony right now too.

@OP: Would you like fries with that?

Not hatin, just sayin: Do anything, just fix the frikin empire tree.  That is the biggest oversight letting that thing continue as an unstable overlay that hops up and down during large conflicts, rendering it almost useless as a targeting tool  And isn't that the point of the damn thing; to provide unit targeting and command control?  With large fleets in a grav well and reinforcing ships jump in, you might as well close your eyes and pin the tail on the focus fire!  Even if you have designated ship types grouped, you can forget about any coherent target selection with it.

More expansions = continued developer interest in the franchise.

More interest = higher chance of Sins 2.

Honestly I just started depinning everything but the planets I control and use it for on the go production orders... and that's about it. Fixing it would help even with that though.

Just get Sins 2 started now and do the damn thing justice with campaign, campaign editor, and everything that should have been in that wasn't.  Yes, I await Annatar's flame/putdown with some snide comment about 7DS.  Some things can't be avoided, but if not for mods SOASE would have ended up a nice coffee cup coaster.

Seriously, who the hell releases an RTS of any kind without a campaign?

And yes, Amen to having the fleet overlay not a jumpy, jittery pos.

If you got bored, why didn't you log onto Ironclad Online and play it against human players?  The tragedy of Sins is that online multiplayer PvP adds so much more strategy and tactics to the game, and makes it much more interesting, but the vast majority of Sins purchasers never thought about playing it against other people for whatever reasons.

I am going to wait for Sins 2.

I like huge multi-star maps I can play for long time which is just not possible with the current engine.

While 64 bit might not be common now it soon will be. If the next expansion at least supports multi-threading I will think about it.

NO MORE SLIDE SHOWS.

Space pony plushies.... why that's genius! Forget the expansion, all you need to do is sell those things in the Sins store next holiday season.  :erk: *insert much needed space pony smile here*

I am pretty sure sins 2 is already in the works. I mean, why is it talking this long just for them to push Sins: rebellion if it is matter of programming changes.

And I don't buying a few space pony plushies if it means faster development. :)

There is very little i can think of that would be cooler.

Marza plushies that fold out into a pillow

Order Rebellion, get a free Space Pony Plushie!

How about capital ship stick-on hood ornaments?  Wouldn't it be cool to have a little Marza on the hood of your car?

I'd prefer the Radiance myself for the hood ornament.  (can't see it working quite so well as a plushy.. that folds out into a pillow anyway.)
