Bring Back Wozniak!

Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer and designer of the Apple I and Apple ][ computers, said in a recent interview that he would consider returning to Apple if asked.  This comes at a time when a group of Apple shareholders attempt to detail a CEO succession plan in response to Steve Jobs recurring illness.

I'd like to see Wozniak assume some form of leadership at Apple.  The guys a lovable genius who likes to engineer nifty things for the joy of it.  And he's of the mind to reduce user restrictions and open up products for tinkering.  Of technology, he says he wants to "get in there and add my own touches."  And "My thinking is that Apple could be more open and not lose sales, ".  I agree!  As a customer I want freedom to tweak around with my stuff.  I want other people innovating and improving and sharing.  It's sort of like the game Civilization, just different.  Game developer Firaxis  crafts a game, then users modify it in all sorts of interesting ways.  Users make it their own then share their modifications with others.  This makes the product more interesting, which in turn increases sales.  If Apple would tend a little towards the open source side, my next PC might finally be a Mac.

Do you think Woz would be good for Apple and/or its users?

If the end result is a company much less proprietary and more cross platform then yes I'm in favor of seeing Wozniak back. Or better yet turn him loose on Microstuff. Nah ... better to have gamers building the OS's. They at least know what they're doing. They could even design a browser that 'browses'. Pun intended. Wozniak on the hardware end and the gamers doing the software ....... insanity reigns.

As difficult as it is, don't watch the girl. Watch the woz.

out of respect, I'm not posting the other vids.  :)

Anyway, I'm in favor of bringing him back.

I would like to see Steve Wozniak back at Apple and taking it in a direction that opened up the OS-X platform and allowed it's use on a standard PC without having to hack anything.  I mean, I'd like to try it out in the comfort of my own home and not have to buy additional hardware to do it... then if I liked it enough I'd could/would be more inclined to purchase the Apple hardware later.

I've been wanting a Mac system for a while and had one slated in for mid last year, but other priorities took shape and it has been on hold ever since... and right now, being able to purchase the OS only would be a great way to get introduced to Apple software.

I bet I'm not the only one who'd like to see this happen.

haha... I know, right?  The girl is insanely attractive and you can't help but watch her.  She did say (in that clip or another) that she could draw the sexuality out of anyone... so... fail.  But still.  Crazy hot chick dancing with the woz.  If he can pull that off, give him apple already.  :)

Apple today is not the Apple of 87, so I am not sure Wozniak would be good.  But it is his baby, so I think he should be given a chance (the "MBAs" almost killed Apple).
