May I ask all of you who have tried / used any of the free 'voice recognition software (at cnet, for example). Which ones you have found to be the best for a mid range PC running Xp? Pros and cons?

is the only one I found (free), Elana with the other limitations you put on it. I think you should post your processor speed and RAM.
