Volumouse App to control Volume with your Mouse

Came across this at Lifehacker and thought of youse guys and girls. If you have an old style keyboard of are a lazy booger like me, Volumouse2 (Nirsoft) is definitely for you.

Volumouse is very customizable. You set the mouse function and under what conditions the wheel will act as the volume control. In other words it’s not an “either-or” scroll wheel or volume control, and can set 12 different rules governing the conditions governing it’s behavior.

Volumouse 2 beta is x32 and x64. Works for Vista, W7 and 2008

The "More" button next to a rule (see picture just above) allows further flexibility which is really nice (especially for gaming).

Even better….. Volumouse 2 Beta is FREE. My kinda price.

Take some time to browse Nirsoft’s website. Lots of good stuff there!

Very interesting software. Will give it a try at home. Ironically this would have come in handy a while back when I had no clue what service I was shutting down everytime I ran Gamebooster before I started playing my games. One of the services, can't remember the name right now for the life of me, that was shut off would take away my ability to control the volume thru the knob on my keyboard so I always had to lower my game screen (which is not always easy to do either and sometimes crashed the game) to either lower or mute the volume when ever I needed to.

At least now I know which service not to shut down to prevent this but this little program might still come in handy on other PCs without this kind of keyboard. Thanks.

Foolish mortal! I have a Bose speaker system and have a touch activated mute and volume control for my floor shaking speakers...muwahahahahaha!

Nice suggest--be aware it might have issues with a game now and then that uses the same controls.

End of Sinperium's quote

Actually you probably won't since with the "More" you can add conditions, etc. Amazingly customizable. :)
