Trait timer in FE

Listening to Kael over at SI; good chat!

He's talking about having a timer for the first few rounds of combat, and letting XML handle how many turns it lasts.  It would be good to have one that only takes action after so many rounds of combat, too (sort of the opposite of this).  Just getting the idea down while we're chatting.

Thanks!

A good chat indeed.

To add on to your idea a bit:

Say after 10 rounds of combat your heavily armored swordsmen get "fatigue". A drawback from wearing heavy plate and they lose a 2 attack and 1 defense. Meanwhile your light spears are just fine stabbing at the enemy in their light leather.

Also you could have something related to unit size, say your pikemen are getting whittled down and they can go berserk which increases their attack by 5 but their defense drops down by 4.

The possibilities are almost endless.

Yup, relies on a timer that's not just at the beginning, though, but has a settable beginning and duration.

Conversely heavy armored troops could wait a turn or two to store energy for a massive attack! I think your idea would really be cool Winnihym!!
