I'm bored, time for a change

from WinCustomize Forums

so it has been two weeks+ since the new face uplift for WC and I'm still seeing the same old windowblinds that have been up since day 1.

they're all great blinds but c'mon, mix it up a bit. time to change these to the most recent uploads. they won't stay here very long and will show the diversification of our artists. These represent three skinners, all who contribute greatly to the site btw, but still only three.

This time I must agree. There are so many really good ones out there and coming out. Lets see some of them. Garnet Storm, Misty Mint, Gemini, Redux19, Concept LCD to name a few.

Just a thought of what I think would have been good. Today ends the community WB contest. Would have been nice to see those up there for 5 days or a week.

The skins up there as it has been mentioned are freat but they will remain there till another skin passes one of them in downloads. That is what I understand to happen and not so much a feature situation.

I have read the post, haven't ignored anything.  

As mentioned in the other post:

The simple fact is you will never have a system that pleases everyone.  The new skin feature is just an addition showing popular skins, but we also have the daily featured skin which are individually picked.

The new area is highlighting the popular skins so people who hit the front page can immediately see the top skins for the given categories.

most of those people are probably daily visitors and may be more interested in what's new rather than what they've seen already. In the time span that these blinds represent there were 86 other blinds uploaded that received minimal attention in the "new" catagory. and it's not like the most popular are not already listed within the catagory, sort of redundent.

I think that's trolling ID, but wouldn't a system with potential to please more people than it already does be more desireable. Just because I'm bring it up doesn't make it any less valid.

I can guarantee you if that item is changed today I will get complaints that they liked it the way it was.  We continually look at the things on the site and see how they are working, if they need to be modified, etc.

I'm of the thought that people hitting the front page would be receptive if they saw the best skins almost immediately, not taking a chance otherwise.

I was under the impression that the front page was geared towards new members and enticing visitors to become members.

If this is correct, the current layout would be best.

This suggestion may in fact be impossible but something to think about. 

If there were an option to set up WinCustomize as your Browser Home Page would it be possible to have options to set it as you would like?  If so then folks could have a set up that would be geared to what the would like to see.  You would need to have a basic web site I'm sure.  I use My MSN as my Browser Home Page and it allows you to do this.  You can even set up multiple pages.

Like I said, it may not only be impossible but just not practical.  :S
