It’s a free, portable collection of software tools that system administrators and (really) just anyone can take along to solve PC problems anytime and anywhere on a flash drive. It can also be installed on your home system.

IObit toolbox (portable) requires no installation as the tools are exe’s. If you install it on your home system, it occupies 26.4 Mb's.

Also, it occupies little room on your disk. Each admin tool in IObit Toolbox is a stand-alone and the package is organized very well.

This newest edition has a much improved user interface.

See, this is one of the many reasons why I love this site so much and visit several times a day!!  I learn so many new things and get to download incredibly beautiful blinds, icons, cursors, widgets, etc. almost on a daily basis.

I downloaded the program tonight. My question is that if I run the duplicate files scanner or empty folders scan and delete those files will that harm my system?

Sheesh...I ben doinhg this for years.  How did I miss this?  Nice direct.

 

My wife got so mad a few years back because every time we went out to someone's house I'd end up fixing their comp all night--she made me start a business for it.

Tip:  If you start an indie computer repair gig--don't give as home number out on your business card.

Only duplicate files that are unnecessary will be deleted as they are only copies of the original. As for empty folders, some are necessary, some are not. To be on the safe side leave them be.

Be warned that the Disk Cleaner function picked up my WinStep WorkShelf layout backups (file extension .wbk) as Word backups and deleted them.  I fished them back out of the Recycle Bin.  Probably a good idea in general to go through the Recycle Bin and have a look at what it deleted.

On the bright side it did seem to pull out a fair amount of junk. ^_^

Always a good idea to check up on stuff these cleaners delete. I had to re-install photoshop because Revo took out a few too many files after I did the trial version of CS5.
