So i use to play this game and i remember only winning 2 games (A Conquest and Research Victory) Now im trying to go for a Alliance victory with about five other civs and im wondering what race is good for it or what custom race abilities are best?

It depends on whether you're going for a win based on wiping out the guys who aren't in your club, or actually making peace with everyone without wiping anyone out. But Terrans are a sure bet, especially with their Super Diplomacy ability. The more you pump your Diplomacy ability, the easier it will be to bring wars to an end, or get others to start them if need be. You'll need a great economy to keep handing out bribes... I mean, generous donations in the name of peace.
You can win an Alliance victory without a fleet, but it is much easier if you actually have the muscle to back up your hustle.
Terrans. Super Diplomat is a big enough help that now, when I play as them, I disable super abilities if I'm going for a diplomatic win as it's just too easy (though a "true" diplomatic victory is uncommon - I usually ally with all the neutral and good/evil races and wind up destroying the third alignment).
Alliance win may be easier if you handpick the other AIs. For example, Good races and Evil races start of not liking each other, etc.
Thanks for the replies. i think ill go for terrans with a military to "back up my hustle" like marvin said. And hand picking AIs sounds good since im going tough difficullty level
