I hope the game will be released in the boxed version as well.

Highly unlikely. Stores aren't going to want to carry an expansion for a 2007 PC game at christmas time.

I can't believe it guys. You really want to tease me again!

You still need a credit card to PreOrder.
How often we non-credit cards owner have asked you to let us pre-order (buy) with PayPal or (enter other money transfer service here).

Do I really have to pass on that beta stage of yours again, because I can't pre-order?

Oh boy, come on - don't get me wrong, I know the stuff about the financial thingy, that the money is on hold yaddah yaddah not charged really until the game is released.

Please re-evaluate the payment possibilities again this time.
I beg you - personally I think you will miss a lot of pre-order numbers if you stick on that credit card payment rule.

Please let me support you with my pre order placement.
I don't really care about early beta access, it is tempting, but I really want to support you guys.

This isn't a new discussion topic, it has been here before diplomacy, and even before entrenchment...
And I don't want to ask my boss again to lend me our company credit card in order to buy that game.

Thank you - looking forward to pre-order with pay pal anytime soon.

with kind regards

Kaesemuffin

1) Paypal can't be used for preorders because preorders aren't charged UNTIL a Beta is available (or release), and Paypal doesn't support a delayed charge.

2) When Beta is released, there's always a 2-week window where you can pre-order with Paypal and get beta access, because you can now be charged instantly.

Stores have supported expansions for the Original Dawn of War series well after the initial game's release. If this is a full expansion instead of the two micro expansions (Entrenchment & Diplomacy), then I would think, based on information in the last ten years, that it would be possible to get a boxed version. Besides, the combination of Entrenchment & Diplomacy was re-leased later as Trinity what, two years after Sins was released?

I would highly like to see a boxed set from IC and SD for this expansion. I always like having a hard copy if the unthinkable happens and the online servers go down. Ten years down the road I'd still like to play this game even if the parent company (as unlikely as it is to happen) goes down.

No, you will pre-order Rebellion. Diplomacy is a separate expansion available here. Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is a standalone expansion and will not require the previous versions from what we've been told (Reply 176).

It should, however, include all of the Entrenchment and Diplo content.

The options listed are based on what you have registered with us. If you don't own Entrenchment or Diplomacy, you'll be provided with an option to buy those now in addition to Rebellion in case you want to get in on some more advanced action right away.

Look at how much trouble they had getting shelf space for Elemental, and that wasn't an expansion to a 4 year old game. Combined with the expense and reduced revenue that comes from boxed copies, it's highly unlikely.

The boxed PC game market is vanishing, and for anybody who isn't EA or ActiBlizz, it's vanishing very soon.

@Yarlen

When will beta start (very roughly)

PS.: PreOrdered as well, 5 sec after it was available :D

OK, on impulse, I have diplomacy registerd with the same account that I am logged into right now, but the upgrade page shows me diplomacy and rebellion for 40 as well. It is the same account, is there a specific support page for this or what?

use the re-activate option in impulse, and delete the bin file it tells you to delete. if you reregister with the same email as your impulse account, i dont know.... but if you used a different email address, you need to do what I did... see reply number 29

Now, if someone who's never owned a Sins game before buys Rebellion, will they be able to load up Vanilla, Entrenchment, and Diplomacy, or will they only be able to load Rebellion?  (It sounds crazy, but some Rebellion purchasers might want to work their way up from Vanilla through Entrenchment and Diplomacy to Rebellion in order to reduce the complexity as they learn the game.)

Just wondering because my general advice to newbies is to first learn Vanilla, and to then incrementally move up to Entrenchment and then Diplomacy.

I don't see why Wal*Mart, Target, and Best Buy wouldn't carry it next to the other games.  They carried Sins games in the past.
