Black holes, Pulsars and Solar Flares

Affect on particular groups?

I love the black hole concept in distant stars/celestial bodies and understand the AI blithely sends its npc minions to their dooms.  So I wondered...

Ship abilities allow buffs to self, to allied ships near, etc.  Could one of two ways here work?

One

Give a planet a buff that only affects players by type? As in: pirate, local militia, phase, tec, advent, Player0, Player1, etc.?

Two

Give ownership of the planet(black hole, etc.)  to the group and have a buff applied only to friendly forces in the gravity well.

If so, "pirates" could be given ownership of the black hole and then the buff could actually de-buff (damage) enemies in the gravity well as its effect.

Possible?

Yes it is. Explore the Military planets we have in DS. It is coded for at nonownership to effect all until the planet is captured. Then it will only effect the owner. I believe the Mad Scienctist Mod does the whole per species effect which I don't believe is out of date too much to effect those abilities.

colonize ice terran desert asteroid

make a planet with a star texture and one of those atributes. Celestial bodies has stars allreay that can be a planets grav well.

Yes and no. You can make a planet that resembles a star, and then make it colonizable, but no to the actual star itself being the colonizable planet.
