Clarification of allied victory

Hi,

I have some questions about allied victory option in the game. What does it mean exactly?

Let's see a scenario. I start a game with a total of 6 players, I set allied victory with a 4 allied players limit.

1. Should all 4 players be allied with each other to win or is it enough to me to have 4 friends regardless the relations among partners?

2. And what happens, if only 3 players remain in the game (2 AIs and me), and the others are my allied partners. Do I win the game immediatly or do we have to fight for the last standing player because the limit for allied player was set to 4?

You still must all be allied to win.

The way you've phrased that isn't quite clear.  An "allied victory" limit of four means that you cannot possibly win if there are five or more rivals left in the game.  To win, the total number of surviving players (including yourself and the AI's) must be reduced to 4 and you must be allied with all of them.

Typically for a six-player FFA an allied victory limit of 2-3 is advisable.  If you want to play a 4v2 with your friends against the AI's, I'd recommend locked teams.

he meant to ask if you can win with less than the required number of victors (e.g. 3 allied players if the limit is set to 4)

Yes, there is no "minimum" number of winners.  I frequently end up wiping out all the AI's in my comp stomps and winning on my own, even when I have a higher allied victory maximum.

Thank you all for your answers.

The missing of "minimum" role of this option is my biggest problem. I usually find a rival among AI players I can improve relations with to be allied. And this AI's help is so useful that it is much easier to wipe out the others and then we win the game, regardless of the limit of allied players for allied victory.
