Jon Shafer, you'll love this!! (you wont regret checking this out, if your pro Jon)

Disclaimer: If you are one of the many people upset about Jon's joining Stardock, then please exit this thread now. I would prefer not to have you all get your panties in a twist; this will probably hurt your feelings to some degree or another.....

I ran across this and immediately thought of you and your humorous post from when everyone was whining about you joining the team.

there was an even more humorous (relative to the "game" above) comment about it that turned into hilarity here (for some reason i felt inclined to watch it like 4 times in a row):

anyhoo, i haven't said it yet (i think), but welcome to the team :)

You sir have made my day. ^^

EPIC. Absolutely hilarious, all of it.

I am not sure if this is suppose to be a joke or mocking. Either that, or I am missing something. Is this to make fun of Civ V with an I win button and lock of choices, so how it can be called a strategy game?

Yes I am feeling under the weather. What am I missing here? I did think it was funny though.

stupid, but entertaining. It's like jersey shore with less drinking and fighting.

That put a smile on my face.  Jon should learn from this UI, Elemental needs more space bar!  Then it would be esey.

Well didn't Jon want to make a 1280X720 "I WIN" button? Now I have a problem with that since my screen resolution is 1680X945. I know more people have a better resolution than I. So he should be making the button to suit our resolutions. 1280X720 is so 2000s ;P

That was awesome. Totally made my day. From now on, if any game cannot be played with only the space bar, it is a failure:P

not mocking at all :). When the announcement about Jon was made, there was an upheaval of cantankerous individuals posting their despair and revealing a total lack of understanding of game development and the powers that be. Jon had made a jocular post about his plans to make the game extremely simple (would post a link but can't find it yet). It was that thread that made me think of him and there is even more humor when you realize the parallel between the two instance's.

Greetings all! Proud to be joining the Stardock team, and expect to work on a lot of great projects here in the future.

There's been some assumptions here about what my joining Stardock will mean for the games the studio will be putting out from now on. Fear not all - they'll be clearly recognizable as Stardock games. One thing that I will say though, is that Stardock's games are awfully complex, and probably need to be streamlined some so as to not confuse new players. I can't talk about too many details on what our detailed plans are yet, but a little tease can’t hurt.

Right now I'm thinking we'll trim the interface down to one big button in the middle of the screen, 1024 pixels wide by 768 pixels tall (approximately - will vary based on the resolution of the user’s monitor). The text on this button will say "Win the Game." I've had some discussions with Brad and the marketing team about this, and everyone is really excited by the possibilities. We've seen it work well in products from other publishers, and I really feel that this new direction will result in Stardock's games appealing to a much larger audience. We'll do some focus testing and see how things go. If people are still having some trouble grasping the gameplay concepts we may have to simplify things a bit more. I'll keep you guys posted!

That's good. I wasn't sure. I am like you, just too many negative Jon threads. Good thing he is a tuff boy.

I just can't beat that game. I like how my character looks, a big king with a huge sword. But in the first fight, when the intro is over, I pretty much die right away.

Type some text.  Select the text and the "Insert/edit link" button will become enabled.  Put the link and choose any other options and click insert.  Then you you will have a clickable text link. =)  But you might want to define the link as the last thing you do, otherwise text you type in after the clickable text might still be part of the link.

Best regards,
Steven.

I did like the game, but the UI could use some streamlining. For example, why do I have to hit space to show my health bar? It really should be on by default, or activate automatically when first taking damage, hiding it only confuses new players - they might not know it exists at all, much less which keybinding toggles it. Sure it seems obvious to us veterans who discovered the health bar long ago, but we need to make sure the game is also fun for more casual players who can't invest the time to figure these things out.

Yeah you're supposed to die right away, but did you remember to activate your "true power" after your apparent defeat? It's a common mistake new kings make, the tutorial doesn't really prepare you for stage 2.

No, I just closed the game immediately and cancelled my subscription. What a ripoff.

That was a fantastic game! Great drama, action and pathos all in one beautifully rendered action RFP. I laughed, I cried, I clicked the space bar strategically. Brilliant!

Pssh I beat that game years ago. Try playing it on Hardcore Legendary mode!

Single player game that forces me to be connected to internet? Bah!

Plus those next to the next generation graphics gave me lots of lag.  >:(

I suppose it would be embarrassing to admit that I actually failed the quicktime event the first time.
