Can't update this game from version 1.0 to 1.11, Impulse is crap

What's the deal?  I get the error messages: "File is smaller than expected" and sometimes "File is larger than expected".  I have exceptions for windows 7 ultimate for impulse and elemental.  I've cleared out info under then preferences and everything else suggested, but I still cannot update my game.  I would like to take advantage of updates and play online.  Can someone help me?

1) Looks like maybe the file you're trying to download might be damaged?

This error is often cause by real-time anti-virus.

Disable that for a bit while you download and see if that helps.
