How are you people actually texturing these craft?
Thanks.
The textures on my ships are just the textures that are present on the building block pieces.
Same here. Not sure what you're asking.
I think I may understand. To get the different looks, and almost the look of different texturing is by placing various parts together in a way that creates that looks. paneling the same piece, perhaps around the sphere structure will allow you to create something that looks overall different then the parts that created it. maybe that answers it?
ok, here we go
first presentable ship (not actually a ship)
hope you like it. the idea was to make a cheap and modest scout, what i think a scout should be
Terran of course

and now a proper ship, something to hit others with

Nice scout. I'm always a big fan of using parts in unconventional ways- combining hulls backwards, conjoining things using engines as hulls, distorting scale, etc.
Here is yet another Terran design (actually, it's the Arcean ship style, but there's not much difference here). I'm still less than pleased with some of the proportions here, but if you don't look too closely it's a pretty nice ship.

For those who may be wondering, apart from the civilization name and ship prefix, this ship has literally nothing to do with Mass Effect. I just needed to change my civilization's name so I could distinguish the screenshots from this game from the screenshots from my other ongoing Terran game.
A carrier, still a work in progress. I'm not at all convinced about the tower that passes as the bridge, sugestions?

I for one like the tower. But your ship needs something on the front end instead of just terminating.
Qrt: What with the big ball on the front, the small "neck", and then the large engine section, am I the only one to look at that ship and think "star trek"? Or 2001?
working on it, and some story about the ship as well (to add some flavor). I find the terran style of extras a little bit poor sometimes, what do you think guys?

The Aurora Class Light Carrier, weapons and defences depending on tech researched. 12 light fighters and 2 heavy ones.
The. Fighters. Are. Awesome.
Now, what I would do is actually build a full-scale one of those beauties as my next ship... but that's just me.
Front still doesn't seem quite right, but the vertical wings help immensely. I might be content with the front just the way it is. Very, very, very good ship.
glad you like it!
weekens's coming so maybe you all can upload some new ship or new pic at least.
Inspired by the recent bump of Croc411's naval-style ships, I decided to post some old designs (from DA) of mine I tried to do a naval style on. They're old and have some design flaws (visually, that is), but I still kind of like them. even if they aren't nearly up to the level of most of what's in the thread. These are more Terran ships - I've been doing some designs for the Iconians I really ought to upload, but those certainly aren't at all "naval".
The Majestic class cruiser

The Swordblade class cruiser

Hey, lotsa nice ships here. Here are some of those I made:

Lookin' good!
Here are three more:

The Demon II is really impressive, but it doesn't hold a candle to that Yor ship. However, said Yor ship really really really looks like a fighter, even somewhat resembling the Cylon Raider, even though its tag say heavy cruiser.
Sorry for the delay. I've been busy installing Halloween decorations, actually. But anyway, here's my answer to the military starbase. Which I just realized contains some actual military starbase parts.
The tried-and-true Redoubt-class interstellar artillery station is an indespensable part of the PHC's military backbone, serving to support both large-scale naval engagements and planetary defense operations since the early days of the Arbiters' Crusade. Large enough to support approximately 150 Human Navy personnel and yet small enough to avoid the exorbinate costs and logistical entanglements that excluded more formidable feats of engineering such as the Shruiken complex from widespread deployment, the Redoubt is designed to operate somewhat removed from direct combat engagements, relying on the front-line forces it supports for protection. The outer ring itself contains shield generators, munitions depositores, and mechanical equipment that services the station's large weapons batteries. The eight large resupply hangars are incompatible with newer, large-scale cargo ships, forcing the station and its servicers to rely on shuttles and airtight container launches. Each node is equipped with two omnidirectional swivel turrets- RA9 Tri Quantum Rail Cannons on the dorsal surface, and Rayomax quad pulse blasters below. A dedicated fire-control center is equipped with a long-range communications transciever to manage targetting requests and one of the few weapons emplacements for use by the station itself, an omnidirectional repeating gravity gun. Connected to each weapons node by armored umbilicals is a central control section. The apex of this structure is occupied by a master command and operations center, while the ventral surface is dominated by a quadripartite reactor core- each chamber provides one weapons node with the energy needed to sling ultradense projectiles several thousand times the speed of light. In addition to barracks and crew facilities, the core provides hangar space for a squadron of single-person fightercraft, usually Nalex- or Quartzite-class. These are generally used to defend the station itself, but FTL=capable models are sometimes deployed as supplemental attack craft in nearby engagements.

Another impressive station, Scoutdog!
Indeed, the station looks very cool. Here's some custom Krynn ships I made while playing them:

I like the Domain Unregistered pictures from imagshack of frogs for your ship.

GalCivius: Really like the unconventional color scheme you're going with there.
Nice continuation of design principles. I always feel like I'm piecing components together willy-nilly with my stations.
