Elemental’s 2nd Contest: Design a Quest!

I am totally winning this contest! 

Quest of the Bridge Keeper.

KEEPER:  Stop!  Who would cross the Bridge of Death must answer me these questions three, 'ere the other side he see.

Sovereign: Ask me the questions, bridge-keeper. I'm not afraid.

KEEPER: What is your name?

Sovereign: My name is Sir Sovereign of Camelot.

KEEPER: What is your quest?

Sovereign: To seek Patch 1.2.

KEEPER: What is your favorite color?

Sovereign: Blue.

KEEPER: Right. Off you go.

Sovereign: Oh, thank you. Thank you very much.

What are the technical constraints on what a quest can be? Most of the quests in-game are pretty limited, (get the quest, go to a place, maybe fight something, win) but presumably we are able to do a bit more than that.

The Sovereign: "So I heard rumours about a quest."

Rat: "Yes. My Clan needs help purging our house that has been infested by humans."

The Sovereign: "Hmmm Human killing, huh? Shouldn't be difficult."

Rat: "Bring me the corpse of one as evidence and we will reward you generously."

Lord Xia, you so derserve to win this. That's a great plot

I don't know, I read Xia's and it is a good plot, but I worry that a Titan may be too powerful of an entity to actively involve. I don't like nailing down Titan power levels (or Titan personalities/behaviors) in this manner. I would recommend making this character the child of a Titan and a mortal - with the Crone implied to be the mortal parent.

It's a really great plot though, and that is my only concern.

I know!  I created a quest were you can either kill or befriend Lord Xia, that pleases everyone!

And with that, I will have to get involved and create a Quest that eats both of your faces. LOL!

Hmm, a cannibalism quest to eat faces...... sounds awesome. Glad I thought of it before anyone else did. I always have the best original ideas.

Weirdo Hermit: I see you have teeth and a mouth, and almost certainly a digestive system. I have waited for one such as you for many a Tuesday.

Sovereign: Thanks. I have always prided myself on such unique qualities.

Weirdo Hermit: You must go and find a man with a face. Remember that last part, as it's very important. The man must have a face.

Sovereign (pulls out parchment and quill): ....must have face.

----Several Tuesdays later----

Weirdo Hermit: Ahhh, you have done it! You have brought the man with the face. ....... eat it.

Sovereign: Wha?

Weirdo Hermit: EAT HIS FACE!!!!

Sovereign (proceeds to use his unique qualities to eat the face of the man with a face): [*gulp*] Ahhh. There, I have completed your quest. Now, the reward if you will.

Weirdo Hermit: Quest? Who said anything about a quest?

This is pure gold... You sir have just won the internetz.

what about kill AND befriend Lord Xia?

We don't want to know how you're going to befriend Xia's corpse.

1) Your trusted friend and powerful wizard, Jonshaferwitz has been kidnapped somewhere in Civfanaticland.

2) You must venture forth into this wasteland. But beware! The legions of fanatics have powerful spells. One false move, and you will fall victim to the hivemind, and be forced to scream in unison,"You ruined my game" for all eternity.

3) Upon freeing the wizard, you gain access to the legendary "Oneunitpertile" spell, which sends the fanatics running, and causes free people everywhere to rejoice.

what does it take for quests to show up on the list?

Time.

That and the moderator/webmaster being bothered reviewing and submitting it to the list.

Also, dark rituals.

I can see it now, "The Quest for the Quest Posting.."

I feel sorry for the moderators, they're going to have to read through all submissions AND edits we make to the quests. That's a lot of reading compared to the relatively short spell descriptions.

I really want that graphics card, mine is kinda old.  And I want to feel like a winner, and then Frogboy will have to say something nice to me!
