What was your largest empire?

What was your largest empire that you have created? My empire that I had I had 160 colonies and 310 ships in it. I also had about 3 starbases.

Before Pirates came back and destroyed most of it.

How many ships and planets and stations did you have?

I tried to become the most advanced nation first than I try to build up military. What is your strategy?

The game I'm currently playing would be my largest empire.

Planets: 102
Total Ships: 495 (this includes numerous construction ships, so thus number varies)
Attack Ships: 267
Transports: 107 (I like to be prepared)
Starbases: 51

This Sandbox game has been rather boring aside from the numerous wars the other races get into.  The Jagged Knife haven't struck yet, neither have the Peacekeepers or Dreadlords, and the Pirate Invasion spawned only ONE ship.  As such, it's allowed me to just build up and fortify rather peacefully.

As for strategy, mine's pretty much the same.  I love a technological advantage.

Slightly off-topic, but one ship? Are you sure those weren't just the normal pirates?

Nah.  I got the cinematic and everything, and yet just one ship, which made me thoroughly disappointed.  My current game has been full of bugs, so I just passed it off as just another.

1000+ colonies is the norm in high score games. (DA at least) and i think around 17k ships (IIRC i know that sounds high but i think Mumblefratz once had that many in a DL game) ships i think is roughly the record.

Personally, i have had over 1000 colonies and about 8k in ships, though just 1/1 tiny's.

In a DA game, 740 colonies harboring 14,2 trillion inhabitants with 81504 ships floating in space.

I would like to know how many ships stations and worlds that the federation had in star trek in the 24th century had?

Question,

Is it possible to get colonies number to be that high in a standard random map game?

About 400 colonies before I scored a tech victory in DA

1200 ships, mostly medium and larger

Strategy: Research Medium Hulls and Miniaturization ASAP. Concentrate on Influence. Be the big dog and the Korath, Drengin and Yor will be your pals no matter your alignment, at least until it's too late for them. Trade your obsolete ships for their influence points, then let them hammer each other with them.... that one NEVER gets old. :D :D

150 planets, 700 starbases, and about 8000 ships at any one time, though not all of them were combat capable.

My largest empire? Oh heavens, I have no recollection of it. I was on a Huge map, and won by a cultural victory (ohhhhh so much influence). If I remember correctly, I literally couldn't produce enough colony ships a turn to colonize all the planets within my borders for pretty much the whole game. Had a lot of ships too. I tend to decommission smaller ships, though. Also, I tend to keep a constant supply of trade ships going.

Haven't played in such a long time... Civ 5 made me want to get back into this game (I think the way this game works provides a better single-player experience).

Oh, and I absolutely suck when it comes to building enough starbases. I am so lazy about that....

I thought that Federation  Comprised of 184 home worlds, plus any number of colonies.

But anyway. Once I work out a good governor, I will play bigger games.  My problem now a day is the early colonize race.... it's mind numbing.
