Thinking of the possible White Christmas

Rumors and predictions that my area could be seeing some snow showers for Christmas day this year.  It's been years since we had snow falling on the day, at least by my memory.  We had white stuff on the ground last year, but it was from a pre-Christmas day blizzard that left enough behind that it couldn't all melt off before Christmas day.

I like the idea of a white Christmas, provided the snow remains light and we don't get a lot of accumulation.  I definitely don't want the roads to be badly affected, and I'd rather see the people that would be clearing the roads and responding to the emergencies getting a break, so hopefully it'll be something very light and pretty but not much more than that.

I'll have the usual share of running around for the holiday, taking my daughter to her mother's parents, and then taking both kids to my parents the next day.  Hopefully it won't be too crazy.

Oh, a co-worker helped figure out why we've been stuck in the cold so much this year, completely and totally debunking the premise of global warming (or Climate Change as the term is, supposedly, now).  He declared that it was all my fault, with my leaking HVAC system -- the open ducts that were under my home were heating and cooling the outside world enough to be the real cause of climate change.  :D  Seriously, I'm getting a major upgrade done on the HVAC system, but the repair guys that did the work last year (and are doing the replacement work) patched things up enough to cut out the extra entry/exit points in the ducts last year and it has made a world of difference.  As much as I can't stand the propane company (they are definitely no Hank Hills), I was happier with the bill and the quantity of fuel that had been used over the last 9 months of the year.  Given how cold things have been lately, I expected a much nastier hit than I got.  If things get upgraded as they are planned for, it should be even better in the new year with the propane company likely calling me to try to get their meters checked because I surely must be using more than they are seeing :p

Christmas and Holiday music is playing in heavy (shuffle'd) rotation on my iPad for now.  Now that we're within a week of the holiday, I'm ready to hear a steady stream of such songs.  When we're more than a week out, well, I can take a song every now and then in the rotation, but don't want so many that I get bored with what I'm hearing.

Hopefully the holiday season is a great one for everyone here, and hopefully the new year is an even better one.  I still have some health concerns of family members, and certainly have those concerns for some other Joe-users.  Perhaps the new year will bring better news in that front as well. :)
