Windows FX 4

Brilliant but couple problems.

I purchased the programme the other day primarily for the dimming feature of inactive windows, on a multiple monitor setup this is brilliant.

There is a problem, it will not do the flat darken affect? If I disabled the circular darken affect nothing happens.

One feature that is also needed is for an opt out option on certain programs, like watching TV or watching a video in certain in programs. Darkening that window while working on another defeats the object of working a video.

Due to how the feature works it is not possible to make an individual window opt out.  Only windows above the currently active window are not darkened.  We could possibly make it opt out an entire monitor though if there is a fullscreen video, though typically those are always on top and so should not be being darkened already.

What OS are you using?  Also have you tried moving the slider to adjust the darkness?  Also try disabling WindowFX and then enable it again.  Is it now using flat darken?

Regarding the opt out feature I found there is a way around it by pinning the video window or any window you want to exclude from darkening.

I have tried disabling Windows Fx, the flat darken it still does not work. I am going to uninstall do some rebooting and suchlike I will get back to you.

You must be on Win7 (at least not on XP).

That option is one of the right click menu additions that WindowFX can add.

Actually, I have a bug I guess. Enabling the darken feature causes my Taskbar to overlap most right-click menus for Notification area programs as well as the Start Menu itself (in the case of the Start Menu, if I clcik on the Task Bar first and then click on the Start Menu, the Start Menu will stay on top.)

Disabling the darken feature fixes the problem. I keep my Taskbar on the left side of mt desktop, so it run the full height. You can imagine how bad that would be for obscuing menus.

I'm on Win7Ult with a Sapphire-branded 5770 Vidcard (Catalyst 10.12 installed). Below is a shot of the two situations I described:
