1.1 , last chance failure?

1.1 , last chance failure?

Okay, so I kept my mouth shut and waited for the great 1.1 patch; finally get it and less than 1 hour into my first game it CTDs.

I now really feel like the money I spent on this game was a complete waste and I will not be buying another Stardock product unless it has been out a year and half a dozen of my friends swear to how good it is.

I could have dealt with a much more modest revamp game play and balance-wise if it was *stable*! To have strung people along this long and put out something still this crash happy is just unbelievable.

Ah, because there aren't hundreds of programs that take the exact same approach. "Your program crashed, so you should send us your crash data" - Only a lot of programs just throw it into the EULA and don't even ask you. Honestly I think with Impulse being installed on many of the machines with Elemental there should be some automatic crash reporting - This would help both keep players from worrying about having to find their crash data and give Stardock a flood of information, and just have a toggle box in Impulse to disable the feature for those who wish to opt out.

It should be opt-in, not opt-out, and it definitely makes more sense than this kludge of third-party file hosts and forum posts.

I'd happily settle for a new version of Stardock's dear old SmartException, which was only about crash reporting and was opt-in by design because you had to start it manually (or maybe you had to take it out of your Startup folder and then it was opt-in, I forget).

With the exception of the OOM error, which has gotten much better, the game is much more stable.  I have only crashed to desk top once with hours spent playing the game.

I just plain do not like the game anymore.

This is the most honest reply.  I have certainly bought a game and not been happy with it.

Ridiculous complaint....crash reporting doesn't harm you and it's ridiculous to be so obsessed about inteegrityyy  :waaaa:

I love how the game is now at 1.1 personally. Its alot more fun and improved. I get a crash once in awhile, but not very often.

Game is awesome and Ill be buying alot more stardock games in the future. This is just a game for me I guess, but I am loving it. Sure there are still some AI issues and what nto, but the game is tons of fun for me and can have me up for hours sayign ONE MORE TURN!

Since you want to be a brat about it...

About half my complaint is an objection to being pushed to third parties that offer 'free' services in exchange for profile data (privacy, not "inteegreityyy"). A bit more than half is about what a PITA crash reporting is now compared to when SmartException still worked with Stardock games. Not a very complicated or controversial opinion.
