[TA] Econ Starbase Manufacturing Modules appear to do nothing

I have 5 econ starbases with 3 levels of the manufacturing modules (+5% research/military/social production) but the planets within the bubble do not appear to be gaining any of the benefits. I'm seeing the normal number of "shields" being produced and no additional planetary modifier.

 

Now before I go claiming that this is broken, I just want to iterate the steps I took to set these to to make sure I did everything correctly.

1. Build an econ starbase with the affected planets within the "bubble"

2. Upgrade the starbase with constructors.

 

I don't have to assign a specific planet to get the bonuses right? All of the planets should get the effect of the starbase.

I'd love to see this one sorted out.  It would make me cry just a little if this turned out to be broken.

The bonus is listed in the "Details" Page of the planet. I see my 48% manufacturing bonus. I just wish this was in some way displayed upon the "Summery" page.

In my experience starbase modules work (as in, have a clear effect) without problems. This is probably an UI issue.

Edit: Which is what jecjackal just said. Nevermind.

It is displayed in the number of shields generated although in some cases it might not be all that apparent.

Here's an old set of screenshot from DL, it should be pretty much the same in TA.

 

One of many methods of play. Setting up an array of econ starbases to cover pretty much a whole sector of planets which are then used to generate tremendous rates of research and can be later converted to military production to spit out huge hull dreadnaughts pretty much every turn.

This is by no means the best, in fact as far as uber research planets go this one is fairly ordinary, it's just a screenshot I've happened to keep around. I think the record was somewhere around 20K RP's per turn for a single planet, although that's as much a function of how many research resources you have to mine as well as the precise planet location as well as bonus tiles among other factors.

Basically once you built something like this and could to afford to set your sliders to max research you could quickly out research any and all AI's and be in a position to wipe them out with your superior technology.

Just one of many ways to win. Back in the day it was a pretty popular method, however it's long since been supplanted by more efficient methods.
