Ok, so I decided to create a new Chatroom, because the old one was getting pretty....old!  ;P

Everyone may post here, as well as in the good'ol Flameroom...I mean, Chatroom *_*

I would like to keep this Chatroom civilized. Well, as civilized as most forum threads are (doesnt mean that you all have to be polite like Oatesy, lol).

So for this reason, I may update the OP of this thread in the future, posting certain thread rules, as I see fit.

For now though, post away, and everyone is welcome! :)

Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favorite movie series of all time:) I think it can easily score #3 on my top 10 list.

I love Pirates of the Caribbean. Its one of the only movie series where I actually felt like watching all the movies and remained interested throughout. The acting and writing has always been great. Though alot of my friends, like morph are concerened about how the movie will do without the Orlando and Keira characters.

That reminds me of the fact that a lot (and I mean a lot) of people only went to see the second Transformers movie because Megan Fox was in it.

I wanted to see the 2nd Transformers movie because it's GIANT ROBOT CAR-PEOPLE BEATING EACH OTHER UP. Which is why I am totally intending to see Transformers 3.

Side note: anyone hear about that dumb new movie "Battle for Los Angelos", where it's basically an alien civilization is colonizing Earth while humans are still on it?

Because I think that that is an incredibly dumb thing. But then again, I am immersing myself in hard SF source materials so that I can write a few short stories in a setting I am 'building'. And in hard SF, general consensus is that aliens aren't going to be friendly, but neither will they randomly attack.

Because the easiest means of wiping out another civilization generally points out whoever used said means.

Which means in a neighborhood of 3+ civilizations, you just made yourself a gave yourself a big "SHOOT ME!" sign.

We'll just have to wait and see then, right?

Personally, I think it will not be as good as the others, but because everything else (besides Knightly and Bloom) is basically the same recipe, (Johnny Depp, Gore Verbinski, Jerry Bruckheimer, Hans Zimmer, etc) it will still be freaking awesome ;)

This isnt the case. I dont go to the movies to see Pirates of the Caribbean, just for Keira Knightly or Orlando Bloom.

But the latest movie just lost 2 of its main characters (Elizabeth and Will), and that is never a good thing.

And because these 2 MAIN characters (focus on the main part), are not some noob wanna-be actresses with big boobs who slept with the producer/director, but rather they are talented people who were in Pirates 1, 2 and 3, and helped the movie become a huge Hollywood blockbuster, then yeah, that is actually a small let-down for most people.

P.S. Maybe Penelope Cruz might be able to fill the gap of the female character in the movie (the gap that Keira left), even though she is playing a different character, but the absence of the young blacksmith, you loves a pretty girl, and is usually dragged into bad situations, remains.
