MODS

Unfortunately I cant post on that thread. So I ll create my own...Being able to see the enemies gold is a huge advantage and game breaking...Wow, I am going to have to say it, cheats use those mods...next I will create a mod that will allow me to see the enemies skill tree, and what they are typing to their team mates...That would be alright too, wouldn't it!!??

You know whats also cheap, changing the settings of your game so their are in your own favor.

Being able to see everyone's gold is an advantage even though everyone is able to install the same ui mod which evens the playing field.  Is it game breaking (or do you even honestly consider it that way) - I'd say no.  I can't personally imagine a scenario where knowledge of an individuals gold made some sort of difference in the outcome of a game.  What scenario do you have in mind that makes this "game breaking?" I assume that must mean that if a player has this mod, they will automatically win or something to that effect for it to game breaking.  I'm going out on a limb here and assuming you are actually interested in talking about this instead of another par for the course troll attempt.

I agree that you shouldn't be able to see the other teams gold, though.  Its unfortunately due to how the gold was coded by GPG and not suppressed from view.  It should have been a value that was locked down and not viewable to other teams (things like equipment, skills, etc, are locked down to a particular team and not viewable to the other team with any mod - that's how gold SHOULD have been treated in the coding).  At any rate, I toyed around with the code and if I can come up with a way to suppress the enemy gold value, I'll be happy to release an updated mod.  The codings a little tricky on this mod for me, though.

I suppose if you follow your thought process out (if a player has additional knowledge that is not available to other players - I think that is your point) then any ui mod, as long as another player is not using it, is cheating.  Even the mod that enables you to see your hp and mana expressed as text 100% of the time instead of just a green and blue bar would give you a slight advantage over a player without that.  Or is it just the enemy gold that has you going?

There really is no hugely, gargantuan, absurd, game breaking part of seeing your opponents gold.

For one to attain any knowledge of your opponents gold you have to constantly check them by scrolling over them in game, is this worth the hassle? no.

If someone is saving for creeps you see they have 8k gold, you might be like "HURM MAYBE I SHOOD ATTACK DAT GUY INSTEAD OF THE BEAST THAT HAS ORB AND 8K HP'S because DA POOR WITTLE WREGULWUS HAS NO EQUIPSMENTS DERP"

Now any good player would already target the reg if he got in a situation where he shouldn't be,  that is the nature of reg. Knowing how much gold he has wont change how you react towards him.

The other situation is that you could notice that say ub walks back to the crystal with 4k gold. and next time you see him he has none. you might be like, "HERM I WONDERS IF HES GOTS DA ORBS OF DEFIANCES???? DERP" well this might be useful but you will find out next time UB is in an engagement anyway. maybe he got Narmoths ring instead or sold something to get j-boots regardless of what he bought you will have to engage him to find out. You will have no advantage because you still have several possibilities to what he could have bought.

The final situation is when you see someone late game with 10 or more thousand gold shopping at the artifact shop. you can be like " HURMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I WONDERS WHAT HE BOUGHTS WITH HIS UBERL33T GOLD " the relm of possibilities here is completely up in the air you have NO IDEA what he will buy because he can sell his own gear and get virtually anything at the artifact shop. like in a previous example you will have to watch him or engage him to find out what the hell he bought.

Now all of these scenarios assume you pay way more attention then you need to how much gold your enemies have. Do I do any of these things in game? VERY VERY RARELY because the advantage you gain is non-existent.

Well, that's your point of view.  I think it is a huge advantage, knowing if someone is saving for creeps, or has already bought weapons, armor etc...  Not every game has players engaging in combat every second of the way...Couldn't be bothered writing more about it tonight, but coming from a player that is RANKED 1 UB, added for Nana and blackmages sake.  True, probably not game breaking...However, could lead to a first blood, and that can be sometimes.

PS, Blackmage, go sit back in the corner dude, with the other retards.

As far as i know this is not possible.
but coming from a player that is RANKED 1 UB
Big words there. Can you back them up in a 1on1 or balanced 3on3? never seen or heard of that amazing ranked #1 UB ;)

Just a thought - but you'll likely be able to continue conversations like this if you can avoid the flaming.

Cambokill, consider this a warning. Several of your replies in various threads have been demeaning, rude and even racist. Desist or you will be banned.

seeing enemy gold is not game breaking, and adds another layer of strategy.

Futhermore, creating a  UI-only mod that enables you to see enemy items or skill trees is "impossible" since those are hidden in the game engine itself.

So, I took a shot at updating the mod, but that did not work out yet (managed to make the ui completely vanish though :)).  Anyway, I'll give it a go later.

Going to go off topic for a moment as I don't think another thread needs to be dedicated to the following.

Looking through the recently deleted threads, I noticed cambokill's "ub a-number 1; I'm the greatest" thread.  I thought I'd post a recent game with me and an AI vs cambokill and your_maker.  Now, you might take horrible offense at this (I'd hope not), but perhaps viewing the replay and reviewing my comments will help you improve your game.

Here's a link to the replay:  http://www.gamereplays.org/demigod/replays.php?game=51&show=details&id=166821

Here are some comments:

I played against the number 1 ub cambokill and your_maker (oak) vs me (alt account - ub) and an AI rook.   I somehow managed to win with my BotS UB (which is arguably one of my weaker dg playstyles) a week or so ago.  I believe the settings were starting gold on high or filthy rich, AI on hard (that means the AI rook is dumb as nails, but hard to kill as he buys strong equipment at the start), towers on high, and game speed on variable.

Here's a quick recap:

  • 8 min or so – I kill both cambokill/your_maker while they fight for 275 gold against the AI.
  • No sigil on cambo though he has 4k gold (he did get sigils from time to time, but likely due to the high speed, forgot here and there - I doubt it was a strategic decision)
  • At lev 8 your_maker has 2 levels of morale, but no spirits.
  • At lv 13 cambokill has 2 levels of bestial wrath
  • At lv 15, he opts for another level of bestial wrath instead of acclimation
  • 23 min in – cambo is killed running around without a sigil and focusing his attacks on the ai.
  • Cambokill at lv 18 – still has not picked up acclimation
  • 36 min in cambo’s dead and your_maker isn’t interested in trying to hold his portal, so I take it.
  • Lv20 – no acclimation
  • your_maker's lv 20 oak – 4 levels of morale and no spirits
  • Citadel’s down to about 1/4 strength and cambokill host disconnects and the game drops from pantheon.  Used the “pull the cable” method.

Anyway, it was a fun game.  What you don’t see in the replay is that after his first death, he throttled the game up to max speed or so (replays don't track the actual game speed).  I figured maybe he was just pulling some nonsense to make the time go faster while he was dead – but nah, he kept the speed the same.  That’s why you see us standing around in spots for a little too long from time to time when capping flags, etc.

Anyway, some fundamental misunderstandings led to the loss.  The most important, and glaring, is focusing on the AI when AI gold is set to low.  Sure, you can farm him (not quite as much with the gold settings we used), but he’s worth next to nothing (i think he maxed out at being worth 550 gold a kill).  A few times they were so focused on the ai that they did not notice me wailing on them (this resulted in a double kill for me once).  Another thing – skipping acclimation at level 15 is not really smart.  Read the description of that ability some time.  Bestial wrath builds are rarely effective.  I see what you were doing and understand why, but if you don’t know how acclimation works, you are in some pretty big trouble (eg when you hit me with bestial wrath and I have acclimation, you are actually doing less damage to me than if you did not have bestial wrath.  Sounds crazy, but you should read the tooltip for acclimation.  I think you could have pulled off what you were out to do if your opponent wasn't a ub w/ acclimation though.  With regards to oak – 4 levels of morale and no spirits, just standard minions.  If you were looking to increase dps, a spirit ward or 2 and a few levels of soul power would have probably been more beneficial.

At any rate, congrats on your number 1 ub status.  I think you could become a good player if you set out to do that.  Hope that helps.

losing to a bots ub with an ai is pretty bad, no matter what state of mind you are lol

completely drunk does not justify skill choices. Skill choices and item choices should be so ingrained in your skull there is no reason you should make a terrible build such as that unless you misclick because you're so damn drunk you can't even click properly.

Also, Cambokill, "your rules" mean nothing to the demigod community overall. Zex's rules are the rules that will, you know, actually prove something.

How about the time where I played against you and FC_Oprah Winfrey??

You were probably drunk (hence the memory problems), but the game lasted 2:53 seconds before I called you out based on 3 reports from 3 different dg players calling you an exploiter.  I told "oprah" going into that game that he should play along and not say anything, but that I was looking into an exploiter (if you recollect, at the time I came back and indicated that I didn't think you were an exploiter - which I said to you - though it is apparently I was wrong).  Anyways, if that was a great win for you, then you, sir, have bested me at long last.  As long as the game doesn't go longer than 5 minutes, you have a chance against me with whatever settings you dream up.

Classic. If that doesn't stop the ranting nothing will.

There is no chance in hell that he is done now, btw.

Why are you still here, sho fly!

You should not talk to the number 1 ub player like that.  Granted, he doesn't understand what acclimation is, though he is the best ub player on earth (and choose beastial wrath to counter another ub - he was drunk, its not an excuse - its a fact).  Granted he doesn't NEED to pick game settings that favor him (he may or may not be drunk, it doesn't matter, he's tah smartest there is and knows how ta get da advantage (remember prussian_havok?  Weak player at number 1 ladder rank and we still didn't care)).  Granted if he's losing, he'll use the host disconnect exploit, but that has no impact on him as a player (he was probably just drunk, it happens, right?).

Bye bye forum.

well, I suppose the need to ban you from the forums has passed if you are gracefully bowing out.  Didn't you folks ever wonder why you were allowed to post so much rubbish (and those of you that haven't been banned yet are still able to post)?  Hint - we were probably watching and just waiting to see how far you'd go.  Now its a just a matter of tracking your host disconnect exploits and you'll be banned from demigod.  I doubt it will take all that long, tbh, but of course, that's up to you.  I have more than a few smurf accounts (i do work hard to have a low win % on my accounts just so folks like you will let me join their games). Just think though - if someone beat you easily with a low win %, that was probably me, so by all means, dc from the game - we'll be rid of you soon enough for exploiting.  At least you could man up a little and take losses when you are clearly beat.

Here's what you don't get.  You are a grown man and are married (you get that part, so my bad).  You hop on internet forums telling folks you play in a game that you were a bouncer, that you get in brawls all the time and that you could kick everyone's ass (eg you sound like a 14 year old).  Yet at demigod you require a handicap ramp to even compete. I'm trying to remember the last time a guy in a wheel chair threatened to kick my ass and I felt concerned (I feel bad for folks that are actually handicapped, but I believe you might not actually be physically handicapped).  Against good players, you clearly cannot and will not win unless you learn how to play - I'm not the best dg player ever and using my weakest dg I easily beat you.

So, my friend, you are clearly the best handicapped ub in the game and deserving of ladder rank number 1.  Though even by your own rules, I pretty easily beat the crap out of you even with you having another player buying currency 1/2/3.  You might call that being ladder rank number 1.  I call that being embarrassing.

But, if you like and can get passed your incredibly misplaced ego (referring again to the "I require a handicap to be even remotely good at demigod yet I'm ub #1" comment), I did give you some tips to get better at demigod.  Perhaps you are sober enough now to digest them and perhaps become a better player (hint - if someone's weakest dg can take out your 2 human team, you are not very good).

And as a final note - you insult folks on the forums, you make racist comments, and you are generally rude.  Some folks have been kind enough to let you speak here.  You have just about outstayed your welcome.  Enjoy your ladder rank and demigod as long as you can.  If you don't change your behavior, you will be banned from the forums and demigod.  You are welcome to purchase another account and continue on just as you have.  Or you can take a moment, learn from your mistakes, and actually become a good player.  Its up to you.  But again, you are done with the forums, I doubt I'll hear from you again (unless you were drunk when you wrote that twice, in which case, I understand).
