Final Quest completion

Game Finish

I'm trying to complete my first game. I did the final quest. I have all 5 pieces and returned to the spot I first received the quest; nothing. What am I missing?

Your sovereign needs to be holding them.

Your sovereign needs to be holding them.

Is that true for the dragon one as well?  That quest never completes for me.

Yes, though with it if you save and reload after starting the quest then it fails to work (it will say you completed it but you do not get the dragon).

I have them equiped (green), but it still doesn't complete. Does equiped mean something different?

I've never been able to complete this quest & see the dragon. This quest is broken on my system.

I did the Dragon and the master quest (dragon very impressive and powerful, about the same strengh as a squad of 4 young dragon) and both worked. What is your system? (computer)

They do not need to be equiped, and that may be preventing completion.

I got it to work once.

Steps:

Get quest (with my sovereign as the only unit entering).

Go and pick up units that were near the temple (no champions).

Send just my sovereign back with the egg to get the reward.

No save/reload.

Some of that may not be needed, but the above steps should prevent anything that might keep the quest from working.

windows 7, 64bit, 8Gb ram, NVIDIA GEForce GTS 240 video card, intel i5 core 3.2 GHZ

.. On most of the upper level quests I either get to the goodie hut and absolutely nothing happens (no quest screen), or on those that do work I get to the quest loacation (usually has some kind of yellow picture) and nothing happens, it just disappears. At least one showed a non-yellow image pictorial (can't remember which quest it was) and the picture just "disappeared" as soon as I entered the square and never reappeared & nothing happened.

Basically, the only quests that really work are the ones that return gold, material, metal, books, potions, etc, most of the others simply don't work. The ones with the standard pouch, wagon, etc images work. Those little white huts mostly don't work.

... BTW, I've always used groups with at least one hero, not necessarily just the sovereign. In most cases, three to four heroes plus an archer to deal with any possible monsters. I mostly just look for goodie for the gold, those 200 gold pouches come in very handy sometimes.

There are only two fourth level quests: the dragon and destiny's tutor. The dragon quest has issues (they say the fix has been worked out, but will not come till 1.10) and destinies tutor does not work and it worthless (per the XML the reward is 25 materials and you only need to answer a riddle with no penalty for getting it wrong).

Wow, good machine :) I did those quest with only my sov too, exept for the master quest: I did it once with a squad and the other I did it with Sarog (I played 3 times, 1000+ turn) so maybe it's a combination... or just a bug. I use a much older configuration: Win XP, 3 Gb ram, Geforce 8800 gts, Intel core 2 duo E8400 so maybe it's because since it's older, the "bugs" with the hardware should all been fixed with the driver...
