Someone tell me the Skin.org Story?

Evil demons (eFront) bought skinz.org years ago, but when things started going bad with the demons, they got into a fight with the Crusaders of Light (or in other words, the admins of skinz). The admins left, skinz died, but later was resusrected by the demons. Now it roams the land as a soulless corpse.

okay, at risk of making a mistake about it i'll try and be the first to fill you in on what happened...

basically, from what i know, skinz.org was owned by a business called "eFront" who had a large list of different sites that they used to promote merchandise and whatever (is that right?), so anyhow, about 6 months ago(?) they started to run into financial trouble and then they stopped paying the admins of skinz.org and other sites on their list. There were some odd shinanigans happening with 2 of the main CEO's of the company and their entire chat logs were released onto the internet by a disgruntled employer, exposing the hypocricy of eFront and how they treated the many different sites as a money laundering scam ...

anyhow, skinz.org didn't last long after all that becuase the skinning community have 'moved on' ... some1 at eFront was acting as the admin cuase all the other great people like shoggot, and the thirty4 interactive people had since left due to never being paid ... No-one is really administering the site and it's now just a stagnant place without a community basis.

- that's my interpretation of what happened and how things are - i'm sure some1 around here will be able to add a more enlightening spin on it though -

i think we need to also include that the site was "sold" to eFront in the past, but that the exchange of money from eFront to 34i was never completed in full, so infact eFront screwed over 34i in that department also.

Truth was....the admins gave me editing powers, got scared, and ran. Everyone doesn't notice the sheer 'coincidence' that just as soon as I became an admin the rug was pulled, the coop was flown, the fan was hit by the......

(and those evil tv-demons have stopped Buffy and Angel for the summer and will continue in september. Damnit, who interrupts these things in mid-season!!)

Doreenosis...... I was poking around in the mummified corpse of Skinz the other day, and I actually managed to download a Talisman theme ("Gatekeeper" by Bob Starck Higgins). I managed to log in and view my stats too, strange eh?.
You know, one thing I really miss about that site is having my stats there on the page as soon as I log in. No thumbnails to load, just the info I want. Ah, those were the days............
/me remembers the thrill of waiting to see if his latest creation had got past the Shogmeister.....
