Looking for Google Wave users.

http://goo.gl/DOEP

I'm looking for anyone using Google Wave. To help me in real time with DesktopX Builder. Very new at using forms plus it takes to much time to get an answer. The link is to a open public wave.

Thanks for your time.

John, I tried to help you. I even made a graphic for you. If you want help with DX, you may need to get help in the way someone offers to help you, rather than insisting that they get Google Wave to help you. Help may not come in the exact way you want it. Try to be patient and accept help when it's offered. I have PM'd back and forth with you at least 10 times.

You can't ask for help then try to dictate how that help is delivered.

I have no interest in Wave. I do have an interest in trying to help.

You could have at least thanked me for the graphic I sent.

It's forum, not form. Too, as in also, has 2 o's.  Have a nice wave...

So as there is no misunderstanding here, both parties just need to back away and move on.  :sun:

i agree philly, Both sides need to back away gracefully. and for what it is worth. Posting comments that were edited for profanity just to make a point is a little classless. agree to disagree, buy some steel, build that bridge and get over it.

Sure thing but still can't get an answer to this Question.

Then I just wanted to know dose anyone know of a code when the widget or gadget is clicked that will open a popup. The content of the popup will be the clients default browser.

Keep in mind, time and energy are limited, and antagonistic attitudes do nothing to encourage others to expend either one seeking or giving help. The DX community here isn't very large, so we try to be friendly and helpful towards each other. Patience and appreciation for help received, big or small, a solution or just a step in the right direction, has gone a long way towards building that community and knowledge base.

I don't use Google Wave (last I heard it was abandoned.) Your original post doesn't state what you're trying to do with it in DX, so I don't know if I can help or not.

Your latest post sounds like the gadget is a shortcut to the internet, which opens on click. In that case, this tutorial  or this tutorial might be of use.

If it's more complicated than that, you'll have to elaborate.

No those two I have seen. I need the gadget or widget to open a popup lets say 600x600 with the clients default browser in the popup. Now will the shortcut open a file not a folder. This might be the answer to the question.

Thanks sViz

Yes, the shortcut configuration window has the option to open files, too. (See the image in either tutorial.) The link RnD provided is a good example on how to make a custom browser window.

As for the window 'popping up', it sounds like this is what you're trying to achieve.

I did something like what you describe years ago, It was one of my first published projects: https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/desktopx_objects/3941/

All you would need was another object to hide/unhide this one.

EDIT::  Too funny Jim.  I never thought to look at yoru link because . . well . . who would be crazy enough to link to something I did?  Then, afterI posted I figured I'd see what you *did* link to.  I was like "Stupid browser!  I jsut closed that tab."  Close.  Click.  "WTH" I think.  {forehead slap}.  Thanks for the remembrance.  Hard to imagine somethign I did so long ago is still relevant.
