Being a part of the Elemental community. And one of the beta testers. Following the making of Elemental by reading almost daily post by Frogboy. I almost felt like I got an insight of the company. Almost felt like how it would be to work for a game developing company! Following Elemental slowly growing, trying out the early betas to the full game. It's been a cool ride!! And it's not over yet..Looking forward to v1.1.
Anyways my point is GAME BIZ 3. If you haven't heard of the Game Biz series yet. I'll recomend you try it out. Game Biz 1 (freeware). Is a game where you create games for different platforms. Follow the trends, compete against other (AI) game developers. It's quite entertaining.
Game Biz 2 (freeware), the fantastic sequal that brought Game Biz to a new level. In this game, you would have to develope an engine in a genre for whatever system you planed to develope games for. After that you could use that engine (or sell it) to make games... After releasing some succsessfull games, earning money and growing your company, you can eventually develop your own consol. You can compete with other consols, like the nintendo, or playstation or any of the systems... Make sure you have the developer tools that will help you speed up the process of developing games. Also buy extra protection to prevent piracy against your games. Not only that, hire, train and controll each individual programmer/designer/hardware engineer and so on. So that their skills improove. You can controll a lot of things in this game, even watch your marketshare on the stockmarket grow (or sink). Other companies can buy shares in your company and so on... Recommend to try out this game if your a lifelong gamer or like simulation games.
Game biz 3 (demo/software) is suppose to release around the 27th of october (in 9 days from now). In that game you can buy licenses to create scertain games. You can controll individual developer teams, and the people within the teams. You can buy and sell shares at a stockmarket. You can create games and consols.. The game haven't relesed yet, but it has been under development for over 2 years. It's going to be fantastic! I recommend to check it out. There is screenshot on the website in the link attatched to this post!
