Garnet Storm - In the Gallery!

Garnet Storm - In the Gallery!

Thank you for the name Po!

I had a dream last night of this swirly thing. When I woke, I opened PS and made it...then things progressed into this. Just a mock up so far.

Garnet Storm Xtreme is now in the gallery! Had to change the startmenu buttons first! What a goober I am! :P

Update: Had to do a last minute reupload...I did an edit on the email image and forgot to resize it...so the theme should be up soon if not already. ;)

Quoting starkers, reply 149

Nope but I'd be interested in knowing what you use to put the videos up here. Is it You Tube downloader?

Nah, what you do is go to YouTube, select the clip you wish to use, right click and select 'Copy/Embed HTML' and copy.  Once you have done that, return to the forum post you wish to embed it in, click the HTML button at the top of the reply box and paste the code you just copied over at YouTube.... it's as easy as that.

Actually, not that easy. In the HTML code there will be several instances of the word EMBED. Find the last one, and go backwards from there, till you come to the next one. That is the only part you paste into the HTML box. Delete everything else on each end of that.  Example:

<   embed    >    stuff...stuff....stuff.....etc.....     <    embed        > .        Spaces added to be sure not to bork this reply. The spaces wouldn't be there normally.

Delete the top part, and the bottom part. Paste in the middle part.

I've never done that and everything I linked to YouTube worked okay.  I have always copied the entire thing and it never bounced, so what is the difference, now that you've planted the seed and I'm curious?

I dunno, I tried embedding all of it and it was no go. Zubaz told me how to do it, and been doing it that way since.

Orright, I'll give that a go next time, and there after if it works okay for me. :)

Just a word here, to say that I am most impressed with the Garnet Storm suite of skins.  Firstly to Xiandi for the original concept, a great big thank you for one of the most important WBs in history.  Secondly, a humongous thank you to RedneckDude, Po` and WebGizmos for their tremendous contributions that really and truly rock the Casbah... and thirdly, to Philly for his assembling it all in a very neat and tidy package.

You guys did beautiful. :smitten: :inlove:

You deserve it Philly. Those suites are all awesome. You take custom made parts and build not a house but a mansion for them to live in. What does that say about quality.

Agreed!

WebGizmos said I should get on it. I did and Xiandi was gracious enough to give me permission to use her graphics. When I opened the zip I almost freaked. There was the whole kitt'n-kaboodle of everything all over my downloads folder. Took me ten minutes to put it all inside a separate folder so as not to confuse an already befuddled mind. Then I spent an hour going over the png's, I don't want to use anything other than what's in the folder. I got it started and in a few days or so look for it in the WIP.

BTW ... Xiandi ... I'm so nervous. o_O

Awwwwwwwwwww........

You deserve it, Jim, particularly given the state of DX and how you battle against that adversity to produce the best DX themes a man/woman can get.  Which reminds me, I still have to go through your gallery and collect quite a few of them when my d/l quota resets... didn't get around to it due to a download quota enforced by a giant telco monopoly with an unparalleled greed for profit.  Telstra, anyone?   Despite being with another provider with cheaper rates, its offers are still restricted by that telco's wholesale practices/limitations on bandwidth/refusal to open up ADSL 2 in some areas to other ISPs.  Anyhow, I digess...

Yes, I include you because you take the time to nicely present a suite of skins and this gives busy users easy access to all the available contributions with the click of a button.  That, to many, is almost as important as the skins themselves... because you've given them that ease of use, and that is commendable.

I say that because it is true, for me, at least.  When I said that it was, for me. the most anticipated WB of all time, I just knew there was something extraordinary about it... like I had a gut feeling or something, and I certainly was not disappointed when you released it.  All my expectations were fulfilled and I was as happy as an old boar in muck.

Sorry about the zip file. I should have put it all in a folder for you. No need to feel nervous either, you have a bunch of skinners here that can help you through anything you have difficulty with (me included). You'll do just fine. |-)

And you can bet I'll be lookin' for it too. I used your start menu as a background. One meter is finished and all I have to do is duplicate that twice. One for cpu usage, one for available memory and one for memory usage. That's what I got so far.

Guys, I goofed and got the wrong script in the weather gadget. This has been fixed and it's in moderation. Sorry.

The widget was fine, just the gadget form of the weather has gone into moderation.
