Unable to complete the Escort son/daughter to estate quest??

When this happened to me, i wasn't paying attention and actually got the quest twice, then proceeded to take the child to the wrong estate, not realizing there were two children and two estates until later, and even then i didn't know which was which. oops. is it possible this is happening to you? i have always assumed it would show up twice in the quest log, but never checked.

is the destination in a rival kingdoms area of influence? i have had quest locations refuse to activate until after i conquered the enemy and claimed the turf for my own.

you can always try moving the child onto the estate and leaving him there, then move a champion onto it and see if that activates it.(i'm assuming you are moving them as a group.)

No, it was m only quest and not two of them at once.  Also, you mentioned about the child being shown in my team group.  I do not see the child in the group or at the Inn to pick him up.  Prior to updating the game from v1.06, I didn't recall seeing the child in the group either but was able to go to the estate and claim the reward.  So I'm not sure about the changes in the latest updates the affect this or what is going on?

i'm afraid i'm going to be of little help. i have done the quest several times since patching and it has worked fine for me. it has always behaved the same for me too, (by that i mean no changes from the patches), just to be clear, the champion which enters the inn, spawning the quest, should have a party member added to their team, this results in the champions movement being slowed to a painful 1 tile. are you atleast seeing the slow down?

its possible to get the kid killed in combat, but this should have told you the mission was failed. its also possible to seperate the kid from your party,  if you passed through a town on your way to the estate it could be fairly easy to leave him behind sitting in town, but that should also be fairly obvious, and easy to check.

my only other guess is a bad patch/install... but i'd wait for someone else to chime in before acting on that one.

Did you fight any battles with the army that triggered the quest? The child might have been killed if so.

Otherwise, if the child seems to have failed to spawn, please post a savegame to drop.io and link it here so we can check it out in case there's any evidence in it of what might have gone wrong.

Okay, my chanpion may not have been teamed up but I can't remember.  Sp I'll re-install the pathc and try a new game.  If it still happens then I'll post and send the savegame into drop.io.  Thanks.

Did it still happen?  I've got the same issue of not being able to escort the daughter.

Yep, it still happens...  don't get it.  The child doesn't spawn either.  I tried it by forst taking out all enemies nearby before approaching the Inn and then by going to the Inn first then moving to the estate.  Neither way worked as both had the same result - no child, no reward or completion.

Im having the same problem. I never get the kid to spawn either, by being shown or by having the party  slowed, and it remains open all game. happens in multiple games now.

I'm playing my first game with v1.09 and am experiencing the same thing. No noble to escort. Movement is still at normal speed. Quest is still open.

I am familiar with this simplest of quests from my initial install before upgrading to 1.09. Hopefully it will be gone in v1.10.

Playing 1.09, child fails to spawn.

Also the dragon fails to spawn when I complete the egg quest (quest performed from beginning to end by custom sovreign, the only "special" thing that I have done was to enter the items menu and select and then immediately deselect the egg, wondering why that item could be selected. It makes no sense.

Just installed the day, having the same problem with every escort mission I've played: First with the nobleman's daughter, then with a knight I'm supposed to rescue: neither join my party. I tried researching the logistics and recruitment techs first, that didn't seem to help. They still failed to appear in my party. I installed the latest patch earlier but this is still a problem.

Any ideas? the dropbox.io link seems dead.

I have never had problems with this. Maybe she would join you if you stopped touching her all the time

Sorry, I didnt notice that this was in WOM Support, and not in FE. I have no idea if this works in WOM, and I cannot think of a single reason to ever install WOM.

The beta of Fallen Enchantress is 10 times better than WOM with all patches.

That's great. But I payed for Elemental. I'd like to be able to get it to work:). I'm currently using patch 1.4. Maybe if I reinstalled the patch?

Reinstalling the game and the patch fixed the problem for me. Thanks all.
