Stardock UI

Waste of money

Is there somebody at Stardock whose mission is to devise obtuse GUIs? The one with RightClick was bad enough, but Object Dock 2 is really awful. Everything's a dropdown. WHY? There aren't that many options that you couldn't just display a row or two of tick boxes. You can keep my $10, but I'll stick with the slightly less dreadfully organised Object Dock 1.9.

Stop making menu options dropdowns! It's not stylish, it's just a waste of developer time!

I may have missed it, but is there a support issue here?

The SD Support threads aren't for the purpose in your OP. It invites responses which are counter to the declared purpose and rules governing the Support Forum.

The posters point is they don't like the User Interface that Stardock uses, it's thier opinion.  They didn't identify a bug or problem.

I have a lot of opinions, usually try to keep them to myself. :O :-"

Why not a 'drop down'?  You do like (get ready for it) .....(wait) ......(a little more)..... Window Blinds?  X|

Dropdown menus has an usability issue where you don't see your options until you interact with the control. As oppose to radioboxes for instance where you instantly see your options and can immediately pick your options with one click.

Drop down menus is a topic that's been appearing rather often in webdesign for instance - as there was been a period where it'd been the fashion to use lots of drop downs.

The OP has a valid point - it's not just loose opinion. And a User Interface issue is just a valid issue as any other functional issue.

I agree. He has a point. Just not where it was originally posted. It has/had nothing to do with Support.

In a Support thread, commenting/opinions/etc. are far more tightly Moderated. It could, therefore be argued that by changing location (and posting in an appropriate forum), more view points were enabled.

Isn't Support where you address concerns for issues/use of programs?

The best thread would be to post it to the OD+ feedback thread.  ;)
