Weird Slow Down

Howdy,

 

I just bought this game after knowing about it for years and never acting on it. Mistake on my part :P

 

Anyways, I'm having this odd problem with game slowing down quiet noticably after 30+ minutes. It has nothing to do with the graphics, it will run fine on anything, it's just a matter of time before it grinds down requiring a computer reboot to fix.

 

I have no clue what's going on. I'm in between gaming rigs atm, but the laptop I'm using right now is beefy enough to run SC2 on decent settings without trouble so I'm at a loss.

 

Any thoughts and/or suggestions? I'd really appreciate it!

The lag is because the game doesn't clear out the RAM from turn to turn. Thus, the memory the .exe consumes is ever-increasing, in big games coming to the point where you will not be able to save anymore.

Besides turning all vid options (and everything) down there's not much you can do about it, still, this will only mitigate the fact for some time.

Well, that's pretty disapointing. Thanks for the information. Is there any faster way to clear out the ram besides rebooting my computer?

Save and exit, then reload the game.

But go completely out of the game, including the startup screen.
