I use Paintshop Pro 7 for all my skinning, even though I have Photoshop 5.5. I find it real quick and easy to use. Jasc's website is here http://www.jasc.com/ and Photoshop here http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/main.html

Just remember Photoshop is about 7-8 times the price of Paintshop Pro for very little gain in skinning terms, though a few of the wallpaper artists use Photoshop to good effect.

Check out some PSP tutorials http://www.psplinks.com/ and see what it can really do.

Have to agree with Fuzzy...PSP (especially 8) is an awesome program! I have version 7 and 8...as well as PS7. Still trying to learn PS7, but I find I usually open PSP8 to do most of my graphics.

Yep, PSP gets my vote! I've tried Photoshop, the Gimp, and others, but I always go right back to PSP.......... been using it since version 5. PSP 8 is awesome!  PSP has a much friendlier interface than the others... IMHO

I couldn't live without Photoshop. But then again, I have been a photoshop user since version 2.something. Scary, eh? So once you get used to something, you can never go back. Besides, I always say, you get what you pay for....

Have you tried PSP 8? I got much more than I paid for.
