Reported Attack Page
forums.wincustomize.com is being reported as an attack page if you set your security settings in firefox to block reported attack sites.
Is this an issue with firefox and www.stopbadware.org or just my system?

SD has reported it and requested a re-scan of their site. Looks like Mozilla is utilizing this particular Google service as a security measure. Seems a little ham-fisted in that entire, perfectly legitimate, sites get blocked because of something being planted by a bad guy somewhere on the site. I like the idea in theory from a security perspective, there just needs to be a better way to remedy the problem once it occurs.
And a link to 'Ignore this warning' is not a good solution, IMO.
Now getting this when navigating to the site by way of a Google search link in IE. Ironically, after running a search for an article from JU's own search box.
It's a Google thing, not FF or IE per se.
If this is a Google ad issue, why would I still get the warning when logged in and viewing the site ad free?
The "badlist" doesn't know that you're getting the page without ads.
I was getting the warning and I block all ads in entirety.
Why don't Google check its own ads with the data it collects for the 'badlist'. Before they put them on a web site?
It's not related to Google's ads near as I can tell. Looks like Google sells a service (maybe gives it) to Mozilla which actively scans sites for malicious content - indeed, there were two replies in that 'California going broke' thread which contained links to malicious websites, since deleted by the admins.
Looks like Google uses it for its own Search as well (and other Searches that it 'powers' such as JU's) since IE7 access to JU got blocked for the same reason when I tried to access it using a link returned by JU(Google) Search.
Still no resolution to this? Uninstalled FF 6.1.10 and installed earlier version 6.1.8. Still no change. Have to use IE8 to access forums. I don't like IE. ![]()
Uvah
If you want to use FF you can turn off the security setting.
Tools\options\security\Block reported attack sites
.... ok you have me thinking what is FF 6.1, its only up to 3.6 and 4.0 is in beta
So who the hell gave Google control of the entire internet?![]()
No one gave Google control Wiz, they took it. Mwahahaha ![]()
Using IE9 here and no problem. I'd rather be using Firefox though. ![]()
My mistake. I got rid of FF 3.6.10 and installed 3.6.8. Got the numbers mixed up. Sorry 'bout that. didn't matter though as FF is still compromised.
PS - I did uncheck block attack pages but I'm reluctant to leave it that way. I've run into attack pages before and I'd rather not have to deal with one.
It would really be nice if Google would get the rescan done. I right now have the Block attack pages unchecked in FF so I can use the form. IE 8 I have no problem with it
This explains it a little better. (H/T tazgecko) Both Google & Mozilla are using this third party scanning service, IE is not.
oh i had this attack page, when i pressed ignore it took me to mozilla malware warning site. well have turned off warnings and now can access forums ![]()
We apologize for the inconvenience folks. We have taken multiple steps to try and resolve this issue, but it is now in Google's hands.
Note: For those of you installing and uninstalling your browser: Don't. The issue is not your machine or your browser. You have not been hacked or compromised. This is a problem with Google and our sites. It will be resolved in time.

Keep this episode in mind when Google proposes to rule the world.
I have been getting Avast warnings about a malicious url (livertip) when entering JoeUser forums, and I just got one when entering these (WC) forums. Odd, since I had been in the forums, off and on for over an hour, then it just popped up when re-entering the forum. I can still navigate to the forums without any further problems. I just wanted to report it.
IE8 Win7/64
been having the same issue with Joeuser forums, I simply changed the settings in Firefox for now till it's resolved. Besides, I don't hang around many sites to worry about an attack. Hope you fix this soon though, kinda sucks when these things happen.
Its still there. Google or whomever seems to be dragging their collective feet on this.
I'm new to this. Please explain to me what an "attack page" is. ithink you are talking about a web site that might have worms, virusus, etc?
Go to this link. It has all the information you need.
JoeUser and WinCustomize are NOT attack pages. Stardock is working to resolve the matter.
Before this "StopBadware" site came along I never had any problems and my anti virus took care of these things. What's really the point of this all of a sudden? What we need is a "StopAnnoyingware.org" site. This reminds me of those commercials running now claiming to make your pc run a million times faster now cashing in on peoples ignorance. I just turned the thing off and guess what happened...nothing! It's like that site never existed and everything's just fine. Go figure! ![]()
