MyColors themes for ODNT subscribers?

Several years ago we were told that the MyColors themes would be made available to ODNT subscribers as the individual components (wba, ip, etc) since it's redundant to install MyColors if we already have all the necessary software to run the themes (I wouldn't install it even if it was compatible with Win 7 x64). Did this ever come to fruition?

I'm interested in the Koi theme (does it have a 7 substyle? the image looks like it) but I only need the wba and ip, because as I mentioned, I don't intend to ever install MyColors on my machine (since it doesn't seem compatible with my OS anyway). Is this possible yet?

afaik no MyColors themes have been updated to win 7, as for getting the WB and IP the e-mail you get from stardock after purchase has a download link to a zip file containing the individual packages that are in the theme. There may still be an ODNT discount for MyColors, although that may have been pulled when the program was not included with OD2010 because of incompatibility with 7

Once you have the MyColors skin on your system, you can change the extension to .zip and extract all the seperate components and apply seperately.

Whether or not it will be registered to you this way, I'm not sure of.

That would be great.

And how is that achieved without installing MyColors to start with? Kind of defeats the point of avoiding it.

Know what else would be great? If doing multiple quotes actually worked. :annoyed:

Just changing the extension is done through explorer, doesn't need mycolors.

A little off topic but the other day I noticed that MyColors Theme Ankh is advertised as being 7 compatible.

This is cut/paste from MyColors: "Windows XP (32-bit), Vista and 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)"

On application, I don't actually think it is compatible with 7.

I also notice that a few months ago Stardock updated a number of themes here on Wincustomize (March 2010) but didn't indicate what the updates were. A number of people asked what the update involved, but I was unable to find any responses by Stardock.

If I have the facts right (IE mystery updates and unanswered queries and lack of clarity re MyColors Win7 compatibility) then I think Stardock needs to communicate a little better. No, scratch that............. a lot better. The Master Skinners individual efforts seem to outstrippping Stardock's output.

Bebi I think you're going to have to send Sales a note and ask them specifically if Koi comes with an unencrypted version to run without MyColors installed and if it works on Win7.  It doesn't look like they're going to stumble on this thread.  Otherwise we're all just pretty much guessing.
