Nope, I'm still around. Have just been severly busy with a company split and had to redesign and build our networks. It's been some long hard months. Things are slowing down now and I'll be back causing a ruckus again soon enough... Now pass me the olives, will ya...

Also, I need to talk to you about something I'm working on. You got ICQ or irc?

I have the same problem. I'd like to use ObjectBar but at this point it seems more like it should be called XPBar

So I'm patiently awaiting for my WinCustomize CD with the additional themes...

hmm. I see what you mean guys. But I think that the none XP authors should bang out more none OS themes to help boost the population of them. They will then out number XP skins. (Well if that is at all possible now)

I have OB, Still learning how it works, but will promise none XP stuff in the future. I am not bound to XP ...

I run two of my home machines with XP, both Server and professional and I can't stand those nasty default themes. It's compounded by the fact that one of the gui mod tools I love, OB, only has tons of varients of those default themes... I can't get away from it...

maybe I should create another skin for OB and post it in 'all' 256 colors....
I think that is exactly what I'm going to do now! [not in 256 col, maybe just 20...]

replicating the same OB theme over and over again, just changing the color sucks.
You could create one theme holding all the different colors in the different skins (all in one zip), couldn't you. I think that would be a great idea [LISTEN!!!]. I don't want to see another XP OB theme [CYAN maybe ], PLEASE!

I for one was no fan of OS ports when I first started customizing my desktop. I figured if I wanted a computer to look like a mac then I would buy a friggen mac. The same idea holds true if I wanted my computer to look like XP or 2k then I would upgrade.
Then I downloaded a theme for win blinds and I admit that I do change from the 2k look to the xp look to the mac look every so often. Now that I am using just nextstart though I have yet to really change much of anything.
However, this site is definitely plagued with XP wallpapers. I don't believe that it is overwhelmed with win blinds skins because not everyone can make a win blinds skin. MANY people can indeed make a wallpaper. (or open up any beta version of XP and upload the bmp here)
I spoke with one of the most well known skinners that does focus on porting windows os about the wallpaper issue and after some careful consideration I decided not to begin a thread ranting about the idea of xp or any os wallpapers. Bottom line is that the idea came when an admin here responded to my post about the newest additions and he (I assume it is a he) said that they would be considering a way to filter out some of the os wallpapers here simply because they've noticed some aren't really doing work they are opening up the program and just whipping them out of that.
Now I am not pointing fingers as a matter of fact for anyone who has submitted a wallpaper here with the OS in mind I can say that each one of them has offered up at least one original wallpaper from the os.
I guess what I am saying is that while I really appreciate the efforts it seems like there has been a slueh of (notably xp) wallpapers being uploaded here daily.
Some authors will zip them in their packages of icons and such and I really like that idea. But the same authors haven't shown any signs that they have not done the work themselves and created a somewhat original wallpaper.
I don't say get rid of them, but there has got to be another way.

I think its because they know that xp stuff gets downloaded and they want to be in those top lists.

blah..... I'd rather have one download from someone that thought "my" stuff was good over 5,000 downloads from people thinking "hey, more winXP crap.... let's collect it..."

and for all those who haven't figured it out yet... Microsoft hasn't complained about rips because it's free publicity and adds to the hysteria... Those Mac marketing fools... when will they ever learn...

Didn't we do this a couple of weeks ago? And didn't everyone go - 'oh no, not this again'. I'm sick to the back teeth of XP, I'm so incredibly bored of seeing 8/10 items in the top downloads list on Wincustomise being XP related. But there's the rub - the punters (sorry, I'm a Brit, translation: customers) are downloading these sorry XP skins. The public has spoken, and apparently XP is in.

Dokt...the trick is that some of us are getting back at all this XP hysteria....Check out Nuvem's one in particular...hehe...
