desktopx flashing and sound

currently i have the system matric program that shows me a few things. i have the syetem cpu usage and the disk drives and my e-mail notification. i know that you can do all of those with desktopx, though im not positive how with the cpu usage and making those graph things and all. what i was asking was if there was a way to attach a sound that would play when the e-mail notification switched to the got mail, and how i could add something that told me hwo many messages i have in my inbox. lastly on normal windows the taskbar thigns flash when soemthing int hat window happens, is there any way i can add that functionality to the taskbars in desktop x. thank you for your help

I can do the first two.
To make a guage:
Make a new object.
Add an additional abbility for Performance meters.
Configure it.
Click apply.

To make sound effects:
for the new mail state on your mail checker:
click the sound tab and set a sound.

You may need to update to the most recent version to make these work.

The flashing is more application related as the programs can make themselves flash.

In addition to the sound, you can also make the graphic or text completely transparent for all states except for 'new mail' (after you configure it and get it in place). You can make it come into view when you have mail, helping to get your attention even when your sound is off. Turn the mail notification object into a shortcut for your mail program, and it becomes really useful.
