Multiplayer Suggestions

I do not plan to play multiplayer competitively, but I do want to play with friends against the AI.  I hope a few things are implemented in multiplayer.

1.  Simultaneous Turns, the main reason I dont want to play competitive is because I dont have the paitence to wait for other people to end their turn :)  Simultaneous turn would be great just for ease of play.

2. I would like the ability to watch my allies tactical battles, if the game has to pause for tactical battles I want to at least watch my buddy fight them instead of just waiting for him to finish.

Turn base is a better game IMO.   Sim sounds good but practice its nothing more then timed RT.   I like to look and plan and check all my stuff and not be rushed because its "easier"  I want the best gaming experence not the fastest/easiest.  Maybe an option would be either Sim or TB.  Like Civ.  I am a old school TB guy anything else just doesnt cut it.  Thats really the main reason i bought this game .  I was looking to get back the roots ie:  Kings Bounty/MOM. What ever they decide i know it will be good,  these guys are working hard and giving it all they got,  i give them credit for standing up and takin some shots and then trying to retool to make the game the best it can be.

I just finished my first multiplayer game against a human player and it was a long one! Turns are done at the same time but it doesn't feel rushed at all (maybe because I'm used to RTS games). My biggest problem with it so far is that tactical battles have been taken out! Um, this makes the final battle very very very anti-climatic. It was like turn end boom game over. All there was was a long list of who hit who for how much damage and such but that battle was what I played for the other two to three hours. Bummer! Oh well, I'm sure that tactical battles will be added in the future. When it is, I hope to see the ability to watch another players battles as well.

Simultaneous turns pretty much become a requirement as you add more people. With two players you spend 50% of the time in classic turns doing nothing. With 4 players, you spend 75% of the time doing nothing. With 8 players... well nobody would ever play an 8 player game under that rule set, so it doesn't matter. :P

Properly implemented simultaneous turns are nothing like realtime, and there's no reason for you to be rushed. Turn time limits are a seperate thing entirely.

I agree with Tridus.  Especially if you're playing mostly co-op, or playing multiplayer for a "shared single player experience," simultaneous turns is pretty much the same experience as traditional turn-based play.

It would be a different experience for competitive play however I suppose.
