It's recommended to uninstall using Impulse. Did you uninstall that way?

Which executables were left running?

Did you reboot after uninstalling?

I uninstalled from the control panel using only what I had downloaded. Seems logical to do it that way....

StardockWeather.ocx gives some warning about not being registered, then Stardock Think Green.exe crashes.

My icons in Windows Explorer are still the green ones and have not reverted back to default.

This would have to be changed back with Icon Packager.

Reinstall through Impulse, then uninstall through Impulse (right click on the app and choose 'uninstall').

reinstall, set everything back to Windows Aero, THEN uninstall

You're right, Mike. Just make sure to uninstall with Impulse.

Installed Impulse, reinstalled My Colors, set to Aero (didnt fix icons) uninstalled My Colors using impulse. Folder icons are still broken. Do I need to repeat this but reinstall the green theme then switch back?

Windows 7 32/64 with Object Dock installed?

Win 7 32bit.

I don't recall installing object dock, however it shows in the software list in Impulse.

Download and install the trial of Icon Packager. Click on the Settings tab and at the bottom you will see the options for rebuilding/repairing the icons. Do so, then go to the Look and Feel tab and re-apply the Widows Default icons. If that gets things back to normal, you can then uninstall IconPackager.

Good Luck.

Configure Folder Options > Views to show Hidden / System Files.
Open C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local folder and delete IconCache.db file.
Reboot.

StardockWeather.ocx gives some warning about not being registered, then Stardock Think Green.exe crashes

That file needs to be in: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock. If it's not, put it there.

I deleted IconCache.db but that didnt work.

That is in there. Error only occur for a new users I created, after Think Green was uninstalled.

Tried this too, re-applied Windows Default icons and I could see the proper icons for just a second before the think green ones seemed to load back over top.

Just applied another icon theme, these icons actually displayed in place of the Think Green ones, then I tried to apply windows defaults and I'm now stuck with the icons from the new theme.

Sorry to quote again, but I just repeated these steps after running "sfc /scannow" from an elevated command prompt (and rebooting after it made repairs). I had to do the steps twice but the icons seem to be back to normal!

Uninstalling stardock may have corrupted some system icons and I guess sfc repaired them....

Now if I can uninstall Impule and IconPackager without any issues I should be ok.
