Danger....Russ!

Where are you?

Well yeah of course since he won't hang at deviantart anymore. Like I said over there sorry to see him go and I totally respect him but he sent his goodbye with utter disgust and he hangs somewhere else now.
I love his work though and could use another slammin suite

Russ is nearby, the force is strong here, I can feel it... he must be in the vicinity

Alex - why is your site down so long? Maybe that's why nothing new from Russ... he can't post it to your site....

While I too want to see new stuff from Russ, I have to ask myself the question :Which is more important? My need for a 'Dangerous Graphics fix', or my duty to respect his choices? One of the prime threads over at Devart that Russ mentions in the choice he made, had to do with a lack of maturity, and a lack of respect for others. So do I beg him to change his mind, or do I stand by his choice, and respect him for the choice he made?
I think I choose to respect HIS choice...

OK, having said that, where's the secret URL to his new stuff?

hehe Elwin
Russ knows we respect him, he knows we already know him too well too!

so he will be back posting it where the majority can enjoy and use it, right? I hope so cuz that is where it belongs

don't go being stingy now Russ!

He is one of the MAIN reasons that I even go to DevArt. I look for his new Hoverdesk skinz and read the Hoverdesk Forum.

I hope that he does return and to continue to post his excellent work.

HEY! Now here's an idea:

Since Russ is kinda sorta holding his new stuff for ransom anyway, , he should really up the price of admission to see the new works.

-Nobody gets a peek at the goodies unless they create a new theme for HoverDesk!-

Sneaky stuff, eh?
/me thinks he'd go back to theming if that was the price of admission...

Hey, it's a thought.

i'm sure he's quite busy creating cool interfaces for spies. in all the spy movies, their computers have extra-cool non-standard interfaces, that do way more than any 'normal' computer could.

i only hope he's not being held captive in a sub-terranian volcano complex, being forced to create interfaces for a nefarious evil genius, bent on world domination, yet strangely unknown to the world at large.

sorry for the run-on sentence..

Sigh...

Thanks guys/gals. I've gotten more into conceptual art and digital painting and have started visiting those forums more and more frequently. Mosly lurking and dribbling in a few posts here and there for right now. I'm still a little awestruck at some of the talent displayed there.

Posting my frustration and disappointment over at DA is really meant to be a localized issue. After venting my feelings, I feel a catharsis of sorts and I'm anxious to finish some things and get them posted on my site and here (sections permitting).

It wasn't my intent to hold my work ransom, although I can see it being percieved that way. That would require a giant manifestation of ego that I don't think I possess. So there will soon be future themes / skins released - just not at DeviantArt.

The admins are currently trying to reign in an element that has lost control of itself. They agree there is an unsavory faction of individuals tarnishing the site. I applaud this response and I'll readily admit it wasn't something I expected. DA seemed to have this whole anarchist vibe going for it and I assumed that nothing would change. I hope to be proven wrong.

i have to agree with that. it can get really "cruel & unusual" over there from time to time.

When i was seventeen, i had a big "circle-A" painted on my car, and i loved to get in fights, and break stuff over my amplifier.

But i am older now, and it all seems a tad dumb, in retrospect.

I too hold out hope for a "brighter" atmosphere over there....

Yep, I was an f-wit of a teenager once, too, but had other outlets of frustration,,,,,like getting out of Vietnam before I'd be drafted....unimportant little issues like that...
