3 Weeks Later, I Still Don't Have My Limited Edition in Reston, Virginia

This will be the last time I bring this to your attention. I've contacted Stardock sales multiple times. I've posted here before. Needless to say, I don't have the Limited Edition of Elemental that I paid for within days of it being available. The game came out over three weeks ago. I was patient.

Not anymore. If I don't have a response to this simple request, I will never again pre-order a Stardock game and I will most certainly not order a Limited Edition of any game Stardock publishes. Ever again.

This isn't an empty threat. I'm pretty upset about this. I paid $79.95 for something I should have received weeks ago and still haven't even received an update about. It was frustrating enough to deal with the whole launch debacle, but I vowed to see this through. Now, I'm having second thoughts.

WHERE. IS. MY. ORDER?

Well blame depends. Who gets most of the money from my pre-order?

I think people have a reason to be upset.  I just wanted to highlight the fact that shipping errors are not of Stardocks doing.  And the info they get on whats been shipped is provided to them by the fulfillment vendor.  They don't have direct control over any of this.  Therefore there is bound to be delay and disparity between what was supposed to happen, what did happen, and what was reported to happen.

Shrug, so shifting blame around? Doesn't help the situation or future purchases or recommendations of games.

The 2-3 versus 5-7 is someone using priority estimates when they're shipping them media mail.  Stupid, but not exactly world ending.

It's a pretty small box, and USPS loses a lot of small boxes.  They end up in corners and between machinery.  You're slightly dramatic at this stage, perhaps a chill pill?  I could see getting excited over it if you didn't already have the game digitally, but it's a potentially lost package at this point.  They could handle it better, but so could you.  Shit happens, now would be a good time to be notifying them your shipment appears to be lost.  If you're still getting jerked around a week from now, then you've got a real complaint.

Yes, but that's lots of boxes being lost, not just one person. Other people have complained about this.

I'm in the same situation as you. Pre-ordered the limited edition roughly 2 weeks prior to launch... live in Yokohama Japan. Not a peep from sales other than my receipt saying they took my money.

Yes I'm playing the download version, but had I known it would be nigh impossible to get this boxed copy in the mail, I would have just paid for the download.

A little help please!

Wheres the blame shifting?  I think it occured by flaming Stardock for actions outside their sphere of influence.  Stardock doesn't ship the games.  They have no control over shipping operations.  And they are limited in response by the quality of the intel they are given...  Intel coming from the outfit responsible for the failure.  We have no idea whats happening here.  We have no information as to the dialog between the vendor and Stardock.  All we know is that there is a shipping error to an unspecified degree.  And we know that a third party fulfillment center has been contracted to provide the shipping and packaging service.  From this Stardock is judged at fault?  Bah.

i am still waiting myself for my copy from stardock.  the last time this happened to me, i had ordered from ebgames, and they informed me, after stringing me along for over 6 months(seriously, it was actually close to 7 before i got the order) that someone scanned the packages, so they were recorded as shipped, and then tossed them aside, leaving a whole slew buried for half a year in an ebgames warehouse before someone finaly realized there might be a problem, what with all the complaining customers. it was quite fun listening to ups tell me they had no record of the shipment, but ebgames tell me they had it recorded as shipped, so it was a ups problem.

here is hoping it doesn't take nearly that long to straighten it out this time, But, and maybe i'm just old, 3 weeks is a little early to raise a big stink. its called snail mail for reason. they use to tell us to wait 4-6 weeks before they would even acknowledge a complaint. I've got to agree with psychoak, I can understand being upset with customer service for a lack of a meaningful response, but i also imagine they are probably buried right now with complaints about everything to do with this game, and being an indy, likely don't have a lot of resources in this department to begin with.

you have your digital copy, so you don't have a manual that wasn't accuruate or useful when the game shipped, much less now, and would best serve to level a wobbly table, no poster or cloth map. i kinda wanna play with my pewter dragon, in lieu of a working game, but seriously, short of this being "the straw that broke the camels back", is it really worth getting this upset over?

Well, at least the games not a 10 or you'd really be pissed.  Maybe by the time it arrives all will be fixed.  Good luck to you guys that haven't received it yet.

Yes star dock is at fault simply because it is their responsibility as the publisher to deliever the game to the purchaser. However they do it is mostly not relevent(i mean if you had 10 yearold kids with rockets on their backs it might not be ok ;P), that the service/merchandise paid for be recieved is what is relevent.

I live in New Zealand so I wasn't expecting this with any punctuality but I am a little disturbed that I wasn't even sent an email to notify me if it had been shipped at all.

I love stardock, but this games release has left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. I'll see how the game is after 1.08 but if nothing changes expect a bunch of crash reports from me because the game still runs like a dog, is unstable and I am still waiting for the limited addition

Relax and give it a month.  I'm sorry you can't drive down the freeway blasting the Elemental soundrack from your car cd today, but at least you have the game by download.  I'm sure the Stardock sales staff are swamped right now which is the only reason it's taking a little while, but I'm sure on something like this Stardock will make it right.

Believe me I'm well aware of International Shipping times having lived overseas the last 7 years of my life. Most orders to the Tokyo area take about 1 week, with more specialized items taking upwards of 2 weeks. Now that we're closing off the 3rd week, I'm thinking this is more of a problem on their end.

Don't worry, I know you're not starting anything. . . and I wouldn't have posted anything about this either if I hadn't seen a thread going about it. Just wanted to add my voice.

There is a huge difference. If i send something to a client and the shipping outfit loses it or gives me incorrect information this sure as hell isn't my fault and as long as I explain to my clients what has happened caus i have had this happen to me before i've never had a client blame me for something that is out of my control.

You wanna be righteous and indignant fine but this isn't the sales forum and it ain't a place that is going to get you answers beyond what you have gotten so far.

Oh and P.S. i haven't got mine either and i paid a helluva lot more for international shipping. Mine will get here eventually. How do i know because I'll check in with the sales folks on a regular basis and if it isn't here after the 3 weeks I'll ask for a new copy. It will arrive, my money hasn't been stolen.

Also in NZ, also haven't received my LE and also haven't received any emails telling me it has been shipped.

I realise that maybe international shipping could take longer than it so far has (tho it is usually pretty quick for other things I order from the US) but it would be nice to get some confirmation that something was happening and they hadn't just forgotten me.

As for those saying it is out of Stardock's control and telling the OP off for complaining here ... Bollucks. If we buy a game then our contract is with Stardock. If the game doesn't arrive then we complain to Stardock. We, the customer, have no relationship with, nor any control over who Stardock subcontracts to deliver the games, but Stardock have both.

The most appropriate thing is to first contact Stardock sales, and if they ignore you (as they have in the OP's case) then getting stroppy on the forums seems quite reasonable to me.

Note however that I personally haven't contacted Stardock sales about it yet and nor am I complaining about lack of delivery yet - I'm just a little miffed about getting no info at all.

I ordered my LE box at Stardock shop on August, 23. After directly writing to sales@sd and some waiting I got the reply yesterday that my order "will be shipped this week". That is they are starting shipping three weeks after they debited my card.

With this pace I'm just curious…What are my chances to get the box in Russia before Christmas? :snowman:

Jokes aside, there is no excuse for Stardock in using some third-party shipping. The customers cannot choose the carrier or the shipping method, so it's Stardock's sole responsibility.

Cheers and good luck!

I ordered Mine about 2 weeks ago (limited edition) as I couldnt find anyone selling it down under (Sydney) playing the downloaded version and having fun with it as I can see the potential there, the out of memory bug bugs me though but I forgive them for it as they are actually trying to make a game worth playing

Anyway still waiting and prepared to wait a little longer I just hope its soon with the mods comming out that are connected to the book.

I'd assume at the bare minimum Stardock would have enough knowledge of their shipping contract to be able to say the orders were being shipped in batches, ideally I'd hope both them and the third party were organised enough to be able to say they were being posted sequentially, so if your order number was within range X it'd be posted on date Y. Well, ideally I'd expect a confirmation email to say the order had been put through to fulfilment and should be posted in Z days or else the order had shipped, but I'll let them off with that one.

Either way, simply stating the shipments were going out in batches over the next two or three weeks so there may be some delay in receiving it would probably have cut down on around 50% of these posts. Last time I got a hardcopy shipped from Stardock it arrived within a week. So naturally, if I assume the LE was posted on the 24th I'm going to worry, particularly since it'd be coming up to the four week mark at which point Royal Mail suggests I write the item off as lost. On the other hand if it was posted yesterday I'd not be expecting it till next week at the earliest.

To all those that came here to say differently, I truly believe this IS A STARDOCK PROBLEM. I don't care if the shipping is handled by a third party. The fact of the matter is that my CONTRACT IS WITH STARDOCK and at this point, even after repeated attempts, I haven't been able to get through to the third party, so I now go back to Stardock, who my original contract is with.

3+ weeks is long enough. Those of you saying that I should wait longer, I say to you BULS IT. When a customer purchases a product under certain expectations, i.e. that the edition I bought is shipped and that the shipment occurs somewhere REMOTELY close to the release date, I expect those conditions to be met. I paid them $69.95 for the Limited Edition + $10 for shipping to have the game and TO HAVE IT SHIPPED IN A REASONABLE TIME. I should get my $10 back, at the very least. Plain and simple.

Bottom line: Stardock should be paying attention. Not only do they have a fire to put out with the state of the game, but they may just lose customers over this shipping debacle, too. I'm teetering on the edge and my desire to keep asking is seriously dwindling.

We're looking into it guys (some people got double shipments too), but as before, you need to contact sales if you believe your package may have been lost in the mail. We cannot deal with this over the public forums.

What gets me is I paid 10$ extra for shipping.  For this I have no tracking number, no confirmation, no package, and I was charged promptly (and months ago).  Why not, at a minimum, ship via UPS so we can track our own progress?

Whatever, at this point I am done with Stardock.
